End of an era.
https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/colt-halts-sales-of-long-guns-to-the-retail-market/ ETA: Thanks @fssf158 and @Shawnmt6601 for the updates Quoted:
from the industry forum thread linked on page 6 of this thread, quote from @Shawnmt6601 in that thread. Seems to have an inside source. "so, word is its a slow down for 60 days the guy at RSR has supposedly been fired for sending out that email and colt has told RSR to release a statement on that. waiting to see when and if that happens. Im hearing they are have orders for civilian production for this November with a big push for more of the SOCOM models" I'd recommend clarification in the title to indicate that this is temporary so we can cut down on the unnecessary panic and condemnation of Colt for permanently discontinuing civilian AR sales, which they are apparently not doing. Thanks. View Quote |

Fuck Colt, they've never been on the side of the people. They should have been boycotted a long time ago in all truth.

lol. The only gun company that couldn't make money during the 2013 panic strikes again.

Click bait thread. Commercial sales will halt while Colt focuses on LE and .mil contracts. Colts will get scarce for a few months until contract obligations met. This certainly isn't the first time Colt has focused on contracts...

Are they including AR's in this because I have never met anyone who owns any other type of Colt "long gun"
|

"We have just been notified by Colt Firearms that they will be discontinuing production of all Colt long guns to focus on regaining military contracts. I am not sure why this would be necessary or how it would help them - but whatever."
Bitter chuckle. "But whatever" says it all. |

I've never bought a Colt. I don't give the United Auto Workers any money if I can avoid it. I buy non-union guns. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

The ABC days are long gone. There are too many good AR makers now for enough people to want to pay Colt's high prices for their product.

|
Their excuse is bullshit. They are trying to appease people that will never buy their products. Wtf?
|
|
Didn't they learn their lesson the last time they ceased production for civilian market?

Call it focusing on .mil contracts but the reality is they are probably in a tough spot due to shit sales and are about to lay everyone off except the .mil group.

Who cares? It's not like people were lining up to get them unless they found them at an amazing price on sale somewhere.

You guys noticed FN stopped making the M249s as well? Something going on behind the scenes.

Why buy an AR that doesn't have a full M16 BCG and a lower rear shelf?
