My brother turned 18 last month, and he wanted to buy a rifle to celebrate.  Well, when he was talking about what he wanted to buy, he mentioned a Mini-14 that a local dealer had for sale.  Well, being the faithful ARFCOMmer that I am, I couldn't let this simply slide by.

I immediately got to work on him, trying to convince him that the AR-15 was a superior platform, reminding him how much fun mine was to shoot, and telling him he should build one, since he had had so much fun building his 10/22.

So, he did.  Not only that, but our future brother in law got in on the action too, and they built identical carbines with my "guidance."

Now they both have weapons that are superior to mine.

But no worries, I got a stripped lower when they did (all three have sequencial serial #'s) so I'll build when I have money.

All they have left to add are the rear sights, but he sent me pictures today.
Check out the Build it yourself section for details; he said he'll post the specs there pretty soon.  Oh yeah, he's a recent ARFCOM member -  blackeagle05.

His rifle is on the left, the one with the home made 3-point and the Crayola conversion.  The Wolf ammo is also my influence.
