I have to hand it to the photographer they have up there, these kick ass.  You can see the aurora in the last two.  Full gallery at link.

Expedition 31 Flight Engineer Don Pettit relayed some information about photographic techniques used to achieve the images: “My star trail images are made by taking a time exposure of about 10 to 15 minutes. However, with modern digital cameras, 30 seconds is about the longest exposure possible, due to electronic detector noise effectively snowing out the image. To achieve the longer exposures I do what many amateur astronomers do. I take multiple 30-second exposures, then ‘stack’ them using imaging software, thus producing the longer exposure.”

Denis Kenzo and Sveta B dubbed over footage from ISS.

For some reason I always listen to this on intercontinental flights.

I always wanted to learn mechanical engineering, but I just don't have a brain for the math involved.

Thought this would be about the "UFO" that showed up then the ISS feed suddenly cut out. On Drudge now, I'm sure it was just a smudge...

It was a quick call.

we were driving to the gun club in my friends truck, he was a new ham.
the radio was scanning, and we were surprised to hear NA1SS calling

I grabbed the mic made a contact
My friend was - -" man !, my truck my radio, my antenna, and YOU make the contact !!!"
LOL

I handed him the mic, but by then he was talking to another station, then another, then faded over the horizon.

fast foward to around 11:30 and you can see/hear the chaos
