So for those not down unda, Adler A110 shotguns were recently imported.

They're lever action shotguns with a capacity of 5 - 7 rounds.   Since hitting the Australian market, people have been losing their collective shits over this "devastating weapon".

(Pump action and lever action rifles/shotguns are in the same vein as Semi autos down there for classification/banning)

It seems that police are starting to confiscate, without compensation, these guns before the reclassification into the more dangerous category.

"I have received reports from constituents in south-western New South Wales that local Police officers have begun attempting to confiscate five-shot and seven-shot Adler A110 lever-action shotguns," Mr Borsak said.

"This comes after the COAG agreed to reclassify lever-action shotguns with a capacity above five-shots to Category D.

"The Baird Government has not indicated that compensation will be provided for firearms lawfully purchased or modified under existing law.

"Unfortunately, this is part and parcel of a constant issue that I come across: many people in the media, and sometimes the Police Force, do not understand firearms laws, and tend to jump to conclusions and exceed their brief.

"COAG's decision still needs to be ratified by Parliament, and is therefore not currently in force. I have not been informed by the Baird Government of any other reason why this should not be the case.

Funny how in a country where there are many things with many different amounts of legs can kill you outright, you can't defend yourself properly.

We walked into a bank in downtown Sydney on vacation and everyone but a guard was behind a wall of bulletproof glass, buying tickets at the train station had to talk to a guy behind 2" of glass. Weird stuff.

New York State Police had trouble understanding that a Crossfire pump action rifle/shotgun wasn't an "assault weapon" rofl, maybe they can get retirement jobs in Australia

Lotsa folks didn't turn in semiautos back in the 90's last time they did something like this. Supposedly there were a couple million semiautos and only about a third were turned in.
Aussies were the inventors of the Tragic Boating Accident.
