About 3am this morning I was jolted out of bed by the sounds of sirens.

I opened the front door and there were 2 fire trucks.

Someone set my neighbor's Harley on fire.

The fire department had it hauled away, I guess so they could look it over. I talked to one of the firemen and they said it was pretty suspicious.

You can see where they trailed some kind of flammable liquid away from the bike so they could light it without getting burned.

Unfortunately my neighbor has the bare minimum of insurance on the bike and I'll bet his homeowners insurance won't cover an arson.

It's an obvious arson, like someone is sending a message to him.

This is the second time he's been vandalized. The first time they destroyed the tires on his work trailer.

Your neighbor wouldn't happen to be involved in anything that might cause someone to do this to him, would he?

Did he have a McCain sticker on it ?

No.... but we both have these in our front yard.

It could be anti-gun nuts or Obama lovers.

Either he:
1.)  Had a McCain Sticker
2.)  Owed somebody some money
3.)  Screwed around with somebody's wife and he's out for little revenge at a time
4.)  Bad drug deal, sending message
5.)  Pissed off Ex
6.)  <insert other excuse here>

His daughter was raped two years ago, the cops caught the guy who did it and the guy's mom is pissed at my neighbor's whole family.

Edited to add, her (the mom) and her entire family and friend are a bunch of druggies and are either too high or too stupid to pull something like this off without incinerating themselves.

Why would you leave a 18K plus bike in your driveway that close to the street and not in the garage?

4 guys can lift a bike into a truck in a heartbeat.

If she's the one who did it I'd probably set her on fire.

Or one could do it internally with liquid draino and a syringe

Time to install cameras. Sooner or later, the vandal is going to get the wrong house, and it would be good to have pictures of who's going to jail.

Is the grass is front yard?

Wouldn't a vandal make a track of gas towards the road instead of towards the yard in front of the house.

The bike was parked in front of the garage door.

What's all the crap piled up in front of the garage? Is that stuff always out there? Is his garage too cluttered with junk to park a bike in there?

He's an electrical contractor, he garage is full and so it his warehouse.

Owner arson is my guess.

Used Harleys don't sell for squat anymore. Probably the only way the guy thought he could get out from under the payments. Burn it for the insurance. He'll be lucky to not go to jail for that.

The Harley was paid for, he just had liability insurance on it so he's SOL.

He wishes they would have torched his truck, he owes bunches on that and the loan company requires full coverage.

If he wanted to torch his own bike he wouldn't have left an accelerant trail leading to his front door - or even done the deed right in front of his house for that matter.

Bike's was paid for.

Minimal insurance coverage.

He's been set up.
