He also vetoed some other Dem-Socialist legislation re a ridiculous raise in minimum wage and a couple other things.

And for non-Californians engaged in their usual bashing bullshit - .50 ban or Not, we got rid of Gray Davis, the Democrat that brought us Enron and bled this state of revenue & jobs, that passed hordes of business-hostile legislation. Schwarzeneggar is an intermediate and NECESSARY step to a true Republican. His election, he and McClintock's garnering of fully 65% of the Vote in the Recall election was a huge shift in political outcomes in this State. The pendulum has come unstuck and is swinging to the Right. It'll take a little more time.
And with a just a little more momentum, the statistical dead heat here in CA will break in favor of President Bush and the news will be HUGE.
A .50 Ban is not too high a price to pay for this tidal shift in CA politics for people whose politics do not begin and end within their gun safe.

Damn, I did'nt even know Kalifornians were up for another ass-raping.

Surprising to say the least.

YEAH IT IS JUST TOO BAD THAT HE DIDN'T VETO AB50.... which banned the .50BMG in CA and classified it as an "assault weapon" requiring registration if already owned.

THE GOVERNATOR IS A DAMN GIRLIE MAN!!!!!!! ------->

Should thank him, he's not a total anti-gun fanatic, he's on the fence. If he sees that the upside of supporting gun rights is greater than supporting gun control, he'll come around. If he sees that he has to be an pro-gun absolutist to get any support from the gun rights community, then he doesn't have much incentive to support the cause. His first steps in the direction of pro gun ownership should be noted and appreciated.

As much as I'd like to order a FA Uzi in the mail, we need every ally we can get. Not every politician is going to be Dick Cheney or Larry Craig.
