1) Has anyone here worked as an army civilian?

2) What are such jobs like?  Where do such people fit in in the army totem pole (particularly for professional type jobs, e.g.,engineers, doctors, accountants, etc.)?

3) What are working conditions like?  Lower or higher-pressure than their civilian counterparts.

I'm considering what looks like a good job, but I'm quite unfamiliar with the life of an army civilian.

1---yep
2--- GS and WG positions. I did the same thing I did in the USAF only got paid 5 times more. We had WG4-WG11. I was a WG10.
3---I did contract work for the USN, USMC, and USCG (as well as Army contracts).I worked in very casual conditions. Everything was geared towards precision. 3 shifts and all the OT you wanted.

Thanks on that link.  I actually have a particular job in mind, but these jobs are very different from private sector hiring.  You can't just call someone and bullshit about the job; it's much more formal and bureaucratized.

(I've worked for the government before, so I have some experience with this).
