Found a sweet deal on a $3500 firearm upper for $2000. Guy was a state away so i figured i would drive and pick it up, he then claimed he was in Texas but would ship to a FFL. Said he would send me a copy of his drivers license. I figured he was scamming me as shipping items on Armslist is against their policy so I told him to f**k off.

Did I make the right choice or did I just pass up an awesome deal?

When the story changes constantly, it is a no brainer to walk away. You did the right thing. If it is too good to be true,it usually is.

Buddy bought a shotgun barrel off of armslist, had it shipped from Michigan.

Per my suggestion to obtain some references, and specific pictures to make sure he wasn't using stock google image pics, the guy provided references and feedback from his gunbroker account along with the specific pics my buddy requested.

All worked out in the end.

What is a Firearm upper? You must mean complete or firearm lower.

Only thing regulated is the receiver and on ARs that is the lower.

You can buy uppers no FFL

Could be something like a KAC SR25 upper, just a guess. Variants vary in price quite a bit.

I am looking to buy a Fightlite MCR/Shrike....$2,000 for one would be an absolute steal. But im not going to risk getting screwed plus I would prefer to have the latest model anyways.

It will go on my transferable M16 lower.
