It has a certain kitsch appeal, sort of like an AR-7. The rifle can be had for as little as $150, but 10-round magazines usually go for $35 or so. I'd think it would be fun to have, but probably wouldn't ever shoot the thing.

ETA: They're made in the Philippines, so they love you long time.

My best friend has had one for years. It has never gone through a full magazine without malfunctioning at least twice.

Far from me bashing a product that comes from my country, but ... I don't think it's one of the better products they have on the market. As the others said, stay away.

I think that you'd have a better time and reliability plinking with a .22 rimfire conversion kits for ARs.

I think you have us confused with Vietnam.

I have two of the Armscor/Squires Bingham M-16's. An '81 "A1" and a '01 "post ban". Fun plinkers, but that's all.
I also have an AP-74, that started as an "A2" (round HG's and a birdcage FH) that I recently gave the CAR type treatment to.
