I'm sorry, but yes, it's another Lord of War thread.
I just had to put my 2 cents in about this movie as I finally saw it for myself last night. For those that see a blatant anti-gun message in this movie must have the tin foil on so tight you'll see anything as anti-gun unless it flat out says "guns are not bad, guns are great". I didn't really even see anything anti-gun about it. Sure in the movie, his wife and brother do not agree with what he does, but they don't make the movie anti-gun, they just didn't believe in selling these rogue nations guns to use them for killing their own people...and really, most people do think that's bullshit. Not so much selling those rogue nations guns, but what some of those crazy fucks do with them.
Shit, in the end Nicolas Cage didn't even quit selling them, it's not like some sob story where the main character realizes how wrong he was and changes his ways, now that would have made the movie pretty gay.
Anyway, if anyone hasn't seen this because they think it's anti-gun bullshit, I suggest you see it for yourself and make up your own mind, I personally didn't see it, and I'm pretty aware of anti-gun propaganda even when it's subtle.
I don't think the movie is really worth owning, but worth renting.
I would have prefered even more gun porn, but I think we all would.
It's more critical of the arms dealing to other nations, than guns themselves.
Over all it's mildly entertaining, and worth seeing.
