For the first time, just about every aspect of my life is going good for once. I've got a great girl, I'm making good money, my relationship with my family is good, and my health is pretty good. Only thing is that my alcohol consumption is still kinda high.

Yeah, I'd say so. Graduated, employed, like my job, health is perfect, things are coming up roses for W. Naturally, I've got problems and life could be better. But man they could be worse. Much worse. I'm pretty happy.

Well, I graduated from my Master's program, is in the process of transitioning to a job where they will treat me like a sentient being rather than just a warm body, and the AWB sunsetted! All in all, I'd say it was pretty good.

Hell no.

Link Posted: 9/23/2004 8:42:06 PM EST
well, i'm still alive, but then again, so are a lot of my closest enemies.

Hmm, let me think for a moment. Well, I suppose this has been a fair year thus far. Revenue is up 60+% over last year at this time, I am still alive (perhaps this is a good thing), the months seem to pass much quicker but, as I am told, this is to be expected with age.
Link Posted: 9/23/2004 8:45:48 PM EST
... Absolutely!

(1) Family and friends are happy & healthy
(2) I'm happy & healthy
(3) Bush will be re-elected in 2004
(4) AWB sunsetted after many late-night nail-biting sessions
(5) Career is on a fantastic path
(6) Learn more every day and enjoy the arts even more
(7) Building my own chopper
(8) Still going to Heaven, even though I'm an Evolutionist

NO!

but i cant complain; just happy to be alive and well
Link Posted: 9/23/2004 8:48:15 PM EST

John91498, I'm a firm believer that everyone deserves second chances. I hope you can cut back on your alcohol consumption so that your life can be completely happy. I attribute your previous inconsistencies to drinking and posting. That, in itself, isn't terrible but when it becomes disruptive it causes concern.

I know you want to overcome this - its obvious even through the wording of your authored thread, here.

I'm happy to know things are going well for you. I just hope you can accomplish, as you've stated, a reduction in the amount of alcohol you consume.

Best of luck to you.

Uhh nope. My dad died in February and I got laid off in May. Piss on 2004.

The first half of this year stank to high heaven.

Second half is going very well indeed.

Financial pits, overload of responsibility at the University (Dealt with three different police forces in the past week and had a missing person yesterday) on top of having to write a paper due in... 12 hours.

Is it the weekend yet???

Still...count your blessings. I would pay at least $35,000 to switch places with you right now. Some people have it much worse. Count your blessings.

That's just immediate needs - if I could swap out entirely, I'd pay $300,000.

Higher highs, lower lows, with a number of dramatic twists. If I didnt have a stable base from a higher power, I would be....lost.

Everyday is a new day. Keep on keepin on.

... See fellas!

... This is the correct attitude, WTF is wrong with some of you?

... Shape up, suck it in!

... Be a man, and move up in your lives regardless of obstacles!

... Why you may ask?

... Because we all have obstacles in our lives.

Whatever you do DON'T STOP DRINKING!!!!!! This may sound odd, as I usually advocate absitinence from mind altering substances, but lemme tell ya something: ever since I quit drinking my life has been on the downhill slide with the exception of two things. One: I am sober. Two: I am working on my degree in manufacturing / engineering and I enjoy it. Other than that....hey, I am just thankful for the little things.

For those of you who are also on the downhill slide: DO NOT EVER GIVE UP. Always hold your head high and always do the right thing...even if it kills you.

Other than the mustang from hell driving me insane and sucking money out of my pocket - my year has been awesome!!

Link Posted: 9/24/2004 5:36:01 AM EST
This year is 2000% better than last year.

I've been fortunate to still be working as a domestic IT professional through the downturn and the IT bust. There's still a high demand for architects, even if the code is done offshore. I hate the commute, but it's a small price to pay.

Overall, I haven't been fazed by the economy, and we've done well financially through all of it. Bought a company for the wife to run and grow. Things there are going far better than even planned and expected.

Health is good. Relationship with the wife is awesome. Family is still nucking futs, but that's par for the course with family.

Overall, things are pretty damn good. Probably the best they have ever been overall.
Link Posted: 9/24/2004 5:50:54 AM EST
Both good and bad.

Bad-My back continues to worsen. (Degenerative Disk Disease).
Good-I'm still able to hunt, shoot, service my wife, etc.

Bad-Got diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, getting it removed October 20th.
Good-The ralley of support from friends, members of internet boards, and strangers.

Like WW said, it's all in the attitude, but sometimes the attitude slips when ya get hammered.

It's been a banner year in the Gus houshold.

1) I now have an M16, and am looking to buy a can for it (not to mention future NFA toys)
2) Healthy, happy, as is the family
3) Great girlfriend - she lives 30 miles from me and we both like it that way!
4) Career going well - maybe a little too well. Still trying to get some time off for a little trip in mid October and might not be able to get away...
5) W is looking likely to retain control
6) No more AWB
7) Might need to buy another gun safe soon.... I hate selling toys to make room....

My best ever. More positive things going on than I can count.

<----very, very much alive & kicking right now.

Yup. Things are going pretty damned good.

chrome1 is RIGHT!!

In July, my wife was diagnosed with Lupus and I had to put my dog down. My employment status is in constant limbo, and has been since 2001. In fact, I am on my 4th supervisor since the year began. I have watched GOOD friends go through trials and tribulations. I have cried at the news of our dead and injured Warriors.

You gotta experience the bad things in order to truly appreciate the good!

This morning I woke up with two working arms, two working legs, a good back, good vision and hearing....And a MASSIVE erection!!!!

LIFE IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every day above ground is a good day!

1. Got promoted this year (was last year too!)
2. Company growing at 20% so I can hire new people and reward current employees
3. Got several no-ban builds going on (para-FALs, G3, HK93, AK)
4. Got to travel a bunch
5. Family healthy

Life is good. Far better than a couple of years ago.

When W gets re-elected, so much the better.

Yep, overall, life is good. In fact, never better. It's important to realise it, and celebrate it, when it is occurring, so that when life begins to suck, you can look back on the good times.
