I gave up on the media before the first Clinton election. I was up on the alt news, and had read about Red Bone, Cattlegate and Whitewater. I couldn't wait for the election to heat up, because I (foolishly) thought the Monica Media would be all over that, and that there would be a battle royale over those explosive acts of corruption. I waited, and waited, and...not a peep. I haven't watched a network or local news broadcast since.

No. Not at all. The masses don't care, they don't have the time, or will to care.
And social media has not helped either side. In the days of subscription and push media, people get the news that they want. Its all confirmation bias. If you only get the news from your facebook subscriptions or apps on your phone, you're only getting the news you want to get. People don't have time, will, or character to check independent sources or seek out opinions that may be different than their own. |

I don't think Sr. citizen are. I think under 50 is, especially under 30. Social media is the only news many of them get. Most youth do not have cable and some don't have TVs.
I spoke to my mom, 76, yesterday. She has heard of the leaks, but has no idea of the content. She does not have a computer and does not have any social media accounts. She gets all her news from TV. Life long Dem, now voting repub. My sister, 60, was a Hillary supporter, but now is a Trump supporter after the leaks. I, 48, get news from all sources. My wife, 46, (you don't want pics) is on social media and hates Hillary. My Daughter, 21, (no pics you sicko) college educated, early voted for Trump. She only has social media, no cable. But we are in TN. The southern girls get it. |

I think they are waking up. I teach a 40+yr old womens sunday school class who were long time watchers of the Today Show/CNN etc..... said they have lost full faith in getting unbiased news. Even going to the point of saying the things they hear are sickening and refuse to watch such propaganda. These are people who love Hoda and Kathy Lee and have turned them OFF!

I have a dozen or so friends IRL who I also contact on facebook. They're middle aged and tend to be politically middle of the road. They also didn't comment on elections. Now they're pushing Project Veritas, Allen West, Milo, etc. It's refreshing.

Things are changing for sure. Are enough people getting their information from alternate sources in enough numbers to change the election? I suspect the answer is yes, but won't really know for sure till after the vote. But the old media seems to be fading out for a increasingly growing number of people.

Also the craizer they push. Like CNN telling people only the media could look at wikileaks, and just let CNN tell them what was inthe emials. That actually turn a older friend who is more anolog and less digital agaisnt CNN after watching them for decades.
Seen others who view MSNBC about how the Russians hack the emails, but then MSNBC sayign they are fake. An the 180% turn on Trump being Putins best buddy ever, to Trump will start WW3 with them if elected. Stuff like this, and the fact they are getting worse is making them race to the bottonm with ever increasing speed. Eventually gonna run out of older, or less technically inclinedpeople who only what TV only. |

The mainstream is media is in dire financial straits, and there is a reason for that, they losing their credibility by literally selling their soul to the devil. The LAT has cut their newsroom by 75%, and the NYT has had round of huge layoffs in their news rooms. The LaT is trying to sell itself, but no one wants to buy the company.
Today most of the mainstream media writes are the easy stuff, like what is Kim Kardasian wearing for whatever social function she is at; or in the cast of sporting events, you attend the game with your media pass, write it up, and you're done. The media has no time to do research or vet the those people, they just print it as is. Witness all of the women coming out of the wood works saying Trump had sex with them, albeit 20 years ago. |
