Shortly, I will be a CA resident for some time as a guest of Uncle Sam, courtesy of the US Army.  What are the CA rules on handguns?  (I already know my AR's don't cut the mustard!!)  Can someone attempt to give me a low-down and dirty version of what goes and what doesn't?

Item 1:  Any magazine you possess outside of your official duties with a capacity >10 rounds is illegal.  You can be charged with either a misdemeanor or felony - prosecutor's choice.

Item 2:  You are required by Kaliban law to register all handguns you possess within 60 days of moving there.  This is because you are a "personal handgun importer."  Cost is $14 per handgun.  Handgun registration records are stored in the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information.  

Item 3: Chance of obtaining a CCW depend heavily on the county you live in.

Item 4: Verify that your long guns have no "assault weapon" features.  Kaliban law forbids having even one feature.

Do not further burden our infested state by bringing more evil privately owned weapons here.  

Besides, we will have them all banned soon anyway, and then you will be faced with another hassle of getting them out of the state.
