hell no. but you DO have lodges that are all white and all black. there aren't many black masons in regular lodges but there are some and they are not limited in their advancement like the mormon church or stuff like that.

Masonic lodges are not segregated by rule or edict.  My Lodge has brethren of all race, color and creed.

Looks like this has been answered by a couple of Masons.

But as a non-Mason I was going to say:

No, not likely. But I'm sure most minorites look at the Masons as a "whitey" club and think they wouldn't be welcomed.

depends on the area. Masonic lodges are like fraternities adults in my mind, and like fraternities, they reflect the local culture.

Fraternities in coastal cities are much more likely to be diverse in race, religion, etc then fraternities in areas where that hasn't been accepted yet.

They sure as hell are segregated…

Unless they have started letting non-Masons in.

nah, i'm catholic but my dad's a mason and i've seen the guys at his lodge. they're mostly retired mil and there are a couple retired black guys.

black lodges do a lot in the black community, probably more than most other organizations like "act up", "start", the "dnc", etc. i doubt if blacks look at the masons as a buncha crackers.

Show me a picture of a black man wearing a fez and then I will believe you.

A fez-wearer is a Shriner or KoC...  not neccesarily Masonic.

So far we are all over the spectrum.

* They are not segregated.

* They are segregated.

* They are not segregated but there are all white lodges and all black lodges.

* There are no black Shriners.

* If you see a black man in a lodge he must be a non member.

Maybe the answer to this is a secret.

Reading comprehension is your friend...

Who in this thread has said they are segregated?  In Ohio, they are positively not.

no fez's but you can occasionally spot them in their cars with masonic emblems on the trunk.

ETA: actually, this used to be a black mason thing, but i've noticed in the last couple of years more and more whites doing it as well.

My limited experence, saw a Shriner info card for a Greensboro NC lodge.  It stated that to join they must be a Mason.

So from that point on I have assumed that Shriners were also Masons.

All Shriners are Masons.

The above post was in reference to wearing a fez.  Shriners do wear fezes, but so do some KoC.

My foreman is a Mason .  He said that their lodge is segregated . He also said that many lodges are all black .   I guess it's an individual thing .

First I ever heard of that particular church limiting anyone becuase of their racial profile......

I don't suppose you have any kind of documentation on a church limiting people by race?

Heard of others that have done it in the near past, Generally in the Far South and parts of Europe

Blacks could not be "full saints" until around the sixties, when the govt offered money to build colleges and the like. Segregation wasn't allowed, being govt money, so the church just happened to get a message from God saying that now blacks were equal.

Some Masonic Lodges in the South used to be segregated.  Both while and black lodges were common.

This may be changing with the times.
