Are Children ‘Infected’ by Judeo-Christian Values?

In an important case in the United Kingdom, the High Court held this week that Christian views on sexual morality could be "inimical” to a child’s welfare.

Mr. and Mrs. Johns wanted to foster a child as young as five as respite carers for parents who were having difficulty. Some 15 years earlier they had successfully fostered, but work commitments meant that they were unable to devote sufficient time to children. When they retired, they applied to be registered as foster carers again.

Early on in the assessment process, their Christian faith was identified (they are Pentecostals). It was felt their views on sexual ethics conflicted with the duty to promote and value diversity. Of course, the Johns said they would love and care for the child but they couldn’t promote the homosexual lifestyle. They were rather bewildered by the process, as they wanted to foster a five-year-old. Mr. Johns fatally said he would "gently turn them round,” and so the seeds for a major legal case were sown.

Islam is the cure according to many.

How dare people have morals that conflict with the state approved morals.

Yes, the 10 commandment's really mess with people's moralities.

There's worse things to "infect" them with.

If they gonna make deals with the devil (gov), then they shouldn't complain.

The word 'diversity' has come to mean anything other than straight, white, judeo-christian males.

Yep. Fuck 'diversity'.

And just to think just a few hundred years ago the courts were properly using common law and even stated that Christianity is in part the basis for this and that there was nothing bad or wrong about that. This ruling almost seems to flip the British legal system on its head while making a bunch of crap up about duties to diversity and such. Outrageous and just goes to show how much the disease of leftism has infected the British legal and political system.

I prefer uniform morality to diverse debauchery, but what do I know I'm just a racist white guy.

i am not going to entirely write this off to anti christian conspiracy without knowing the facts. These also could have been snake handling nutjobs and their sexual opinions could have been one of many issues.

How do some consider pentacostals off? What do they do or believe that's outside of the mainstream?

The guy who wrote that was the losing barrister.

The nature of the writing makes more sense in that context.

Some of the other stuff cited, if true, was disturbing but not unexpected.

OK, now that we've established precedent it's time to start looking at Islamic schools.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?

I'm not quite sure what the case in question was. Were they worried the couple would teach the child that homosexuality was wrong, or that they would try and turn a gay kid straight? The article sounds vague.
