Well?
Nope, I give them out at meetings and other places where I make contacts. What s the alternative? Take a selfie and text each other
I am still given them from my work to hand out.
They help when at conferences or training to make new contacts . |
Not by a mile.....
Shitty cards are forgettable, great cards are memorable. ZA |

Not dead. I got to meetings on a billion dollar project and we all exchange cards. I don't have a business card holder like I used to. Either snap a pic or keep the ones I like in the desk.

Still relevant. I work with so many different people that I can just give them my card and say if you need anything give me a call. Quick and efficient. If they want to add my contact in their phone they can do it from my card.
I hate when I don't have any because that always seems when someone wants one. |

Look at that subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. |

i keep several of mine in my wallet. they only thing they are really good for is a quick notepad.
the people that NEED my number already have it. |
I keep them and then look them up on LinkedIn much easier to keep in touch there
When a probationer or parolee I supervise doesn't open their door I tuck a card in the jam so the neighbors know I was by. The fact that it clearly states Sex Crimes Team is just another free service we offer.
I text or email all of my contact info as much as I give out cards. But I give out 2,000+ cards every two or three years. So I still use a few cards.
No, my employer provides them to me and I see them regularly in my industry.
They are useful if you are meeting other industry professionals, certainly not dead. |
Not at all................... even though the only time I really need one I dont have one.
For the most part. Most people I meet with we just exchange emails

In my line of work (IT) if you don't have 20 seconds to exchange e-mails with me, or tell me how to find you (linkedin) why would I let you shove your garbage into my hand. To be a salesperson or small business owner, I get it - you've got to cover all bases, but for general pop I dont see it. |
No, It's still a good quick way to exchange info. 90% of people I exchange cards with I never contact and I don't want their info cluttering up my digital contact list.
nope
I like having contacts right in my phone but I still deal with enough people who aren't setup for a quick exchange - a card is much easier Plus work provides them |
I have two cards actually... one for general people with out company info and another for the CEOs/Finance Directors, etc that has my personal cell phone on. They want to know they can call me on Sunday morning if something is on their mind and I will be there.

Yep, every time you take a dump and open a book there's XYZ LLC's card. It's a damn good use of limited advertising funds to buy 1st rate cards. Ironically "crap" cards end-up in the card box. |

Dunno.
Vistaprint has had my order "processing" for close to a month now. Maybe everyone at their facility is dead and the computers are just taking orders or something. |

I always tell them to call me whenever but no one ever does thankfully... I get a handful a year in the evenings but nothing ever after 9pm. For benefit meetings with participants I would never give my cell out... I would get hounded all weekend... When I check out call logs its amazing how many people call our office at 3 am on Sunday morning. Congrats on the raise and advancement by the way, and standup thing you did with the memberships... did you ever find a tank? |

Business cards and word of mouth are about the only way I advertise my business.
Cards are still ok if they are quality and professional.
Otherwise they looks like advertisements for some cheap hack company. Every smuchk has a card. Professionals don't hand them out to every Joe Shmoe and they are simple and to the point. Much like the Paul Allen card at the top of this thread. |

I use a short code to text.
People love it and I capture their contact info at the same time. Text "CODE Their Name" to 12345. They get my digital business card, I get an email with their name and phone number. |
