I have been using AVG free for several months. I had my first virus found yesterday. It is now in the virus vault. What do I need to do? Should I leve it in the virus valut or "empty" the virus vault?

I use AVG and like it much better than Symantec.  Leave it in the vault, it will do no harm there at all, as it is quarantined.

It's all I use anymore.  I would empty the vault and be done with it.

Any other input?

AVAST is superior to AVG

It's also free, much faster, and catches more viruses.

AVG works, AVAST is better

Edit: Google it up, there are many comparison reviews online for your reading pleasure by various tech publications and blogs

I have a few clients (customers) that run AVG.  The standalone version is OK at best.  The network version is downright horrible.

ETA: I have no love for Symantec, but I'd take it over AVG in a corporate environment  any day.

Just started using AVG, have used Symantec for the last few years.... Ran existing virus program (norton) found nothing, ran AVG found 16 viruses. I like AVG much better.

I also use AVG with no problems, like it much better than the two leading competitors.

Edit: If it is a file you don't need just delete it from the vault.

Save yourself some more heartache and dump Internet Explorer and Outlook and switch to Firefox and Thunderbird.

AVG is what I use at home. I used Avast a couple of years ago and it, frankly, annoyed the hell out of me. If AVG annoys me, I might try it again, but it hasn't given me cause to go anywhere else yet.

Empty the vault.

do you get a lot of viruses?
if you get a lot, leave it in the vault for comparison, otherwise just delete it
