I'm about to drop 2k at Robinson Arms, and I am just wondering how they are to deal with and how their turn around time is.

And this will be people's last chance to talk me out of buying a XCR...so if you have any thoughts/opinions please chime in.

people here complain about their political leanings.  from what i here XCR's are good to go but some have had problems with Robinson's product support (or lack thereof) in the past

Are you talking about their M96's?

Just pray they don't come out with a better design and leave you high and dry as well.

I was thinking about 7.62x39...but it seems like getting ammo for it (besides Wolf) will be a bitch.

parts are still available for the M96, just ordered some parts and they should be here this week.

I believe her arf name is xcrmonger. If that's not her, you can find her on the xcr forums (embrace your google-fu), under Terra. She is one of the customer service reps and probably the nicest woman I have ever talked to.

So, how big of a bitch is it to get 7.62x39?

Why couldn't they go with 7.62x51....

it would need a different size reciever.  7.62 x 39 is pretty freaking common.

I wish they still imported/modified VEPRs.  I have one and it's a heckuva gun.

GET ONE.  I didn't pay $2k for it though, but it's certainly worth the $2k you are paying.

But really, in over 10,000 rounds (mostly wolf), I haven't EVER contacted RobArms.  I have yet to have any problems.  Literally, not one.

If you click the above link, you can browse the forum and see the customer service the RobArms gives.  It's better than ANY other firearms company I have seen.

Oh, I'm not planning on paying 2k for just the rifle.

I'm still debating whether or not to get iron sights added on, since I plan on using either an Eotech or Aimpoint.

What say you?

I got Matech sites and went through a bunch of different optics before settling on a cheap Millet DMS-1.  It also has the Vltor folding/collapsing stock, and if I did it again and wasn't waiting for the new stock RobArms wants to release, I would have gotten their normal skeleton folding stock.

They're working on a .308 now.  It's going to take DPMS mags.  Check out XCRforum.  Tons of info there.

Originally I was hoping to go with a POF...but I think for the price, a XCR has more bang for the buck.

I have 2 friends here locally that bought from them. They like their rifles, but mags are a huge problem. They only got 1 each and were told it would be weeks to get more.

You must be talking about their 7.62x39 uppers, as they only have a limited supply of magazines.

If you are talking about their 5.56, you can put any 5.56 stanag mag in them.  I haven't seen any guns ship with more than 2 mags as it is.

Ran into some guys who worked for them at a local range here in Utah four or five years ago.

Cool guys.

They asked us if we wanted to shoot their rifles.

We did.

They ran great.

Normal people...nothing odd about them.

ADD: and, like I said, their weapons (the ones they still sell) ran great.

the owner of robarms came here spouting his support for Romney.  Locals called Romney a gun grabber and a shitstorm ensued.  He came back and called ARF members retarded rednecks or something like that.  FIN.
