Well if we all would learn how to not be smug AND drive Hybrids all at the same time, we'd all be safe. Too bad the technology just isn't there.

So what. Happens this time of year every year. Prices will go up a bit, and then come back down during summer.

Now now - let's not have factual information get in the way of the crying, gnashing of teeth, and Chicken-Little antics that some people on this board are so well known for.

Sounds like job security to me!

Better invest some more money in the energy funds too.

The government should tightly control the price of gas.

As an American, I'm entitled to $1/gallon gasoline for the rest of my life.

at 2 and 1/2 cents a share I might be able to pick up a little of that. It's got a ton of volume, but most of that volume is headed south, good luck.

Risky, but money earned on an .ob spends the same as money earned on a blue chip.

They are in stock buy back mode at the moment. They are going to file their Form 10 at the end of this month and should be much more transparent. Risky, maybe, but the payoff could be a 10 bagger or better.

PBLS? (PBLS.PK, right?)

What's so special about that? Why is a $0.0225 stock interesting?

Other than I could buy 1000 shares for $20 and change...great if it goes to $1.

was it exxon who topped Wal-Mart for number one profits this last year?

we are all getting bent over by stock traders pumping up the price of oil and gas artificialy.

They did it in the 70's when they bought up all the silver. silver went to over $20 an ounce...

then it all crashed and silver has stayed at $7 ever since...

one year ago, anybody remember bitching about gas being > $2 ???

Guess those attention spans are slipping huh>?

Yet, it is still more important to pay "politically correct homage" to the Democratic Party than it is to drill for our own oil in the Northwest.

When gas hits $7 a gallon, the fault will rest squarely and unquestionably on the shoulders of the Democratic Party.

At this rate the oil companies could well cause a recession. If that happens, their future profits will be impacted significantly. It would not surprise me if in 20 years oil companies largest profit came from plastics instead of fuel.

Could it be because big oil and automakers have stymied any effort to bring alternatives to the market for many years? Right now, a normal car should average 40mpg instead of the 15-20 that's common on most models. It's rediculous that we are so obsessed with larger vehicles like suv's with engines that get less than 10mpg that we literally are being controlled on puppet strings by the oil companies while they do nothing but rake in obscene profits. And the really sad thing is that some people here defend it too and call it a free market. There's nothing free about it when our troops are dying for the ability of the spoiled American consumer to drive his or her suv in the future. Call Iraq a war on terror if you want but the reality of it is that Iraq has the 2nd or 3rd largest reserve of crude in the world and it all boils down to who's going to control it.

I bet if we all drove hybirds, they would raise gas prices to $6 a gallon to make up for it.
That's business.

I just hope prices are reasonable by then....

I suspect that you are correct, we'd use less, they'd make less, then a surge in demand, kind of like we have now, would drive it up.

Personally, I like the diesel/vegetable oil fuel option.
