Whitley Strieber is a nutjob. Just look at the crap that he has foisted upon the world:

Wolfen
Communion
The Day After Tomorrow

The book was better.  h.gif

I think it was neat he wrote the book as if it described actual events, rather than straight horor.

Another interesting short story by the same author was titled "Falling Apart" and was featured in Omni magazine many moons ago.

While the movie version of Wolfen was bad, Streiber's book was fascinating. The worst thing about the film is that it completely ignored the very important differences between wolves and Wolfen, the latter a species unto its own and quite disdainful of the common canis lupis. The book had a mythology and logic that the movie lacked entirely.

Strieber also wrote the book Wolfen which was the basis for the horrible film of the same name.
