Damn DF!!

Have you considered sending your preban back to the factory to have them replace that defective receiver?

That's the ultra-lightweight version. You have to pay extra for that because it's more tactical.

That's my High Speed Low Drag Non Sparking Tactical Model.  The guy at the gunshow told me FN only made a few, and I got the last one.  They were made for the Liberian Special Forces.  The extra features are heat vents, designed to keep the weapon cool and functional in the African heat.  He let it go for $500.  He was a really nice guy.  He also has Mikhail Kalashnikov working for him.  That's how all the AKs he sells are perfect specimens.

I wouldn't own one of those.  TOO ugly.  But if I DID have one it would look like this.

I have been told by some here that because it is a CAI gun it is only capable of 50-60 moa at 25yrds. it will definantly do better than that [:D]

That does it! If I hadn't given all of mine to my granddad just weeks before he died, I'd make it a priority to get 'em running right.

So, how do you like that scope? I've been looking at scopes for a long time for my STG. I just can't seem to settle on one.

It's not an L1A1, but here it is anyway, with Tapco's new M249/T48 furniture:

It takes a little getting used to (short relief, the post is inverted)...but I like it. It's more a combat than precision scope, though. Once you get it zeroed, it's got a lever; flipped one way it's good to around 300 meters, flipped another, good to 600 I think.

It looks authentic, and it's actually pretty easy to use, so I like it. It gathers light really well, from what I've seen. Twilight shots shouldn't be a problem.

The Brits used 'em forever, and the Israeli's copied them for use, so...it couldn't have been a horrible design [:)]

And I just realized, that photo was post 1000...how fitting. Post 1000 being a photo of the first rifle I ever bought. [:D]

I think Tapco still sells the SUIT sights. I'm sure you can find them on Ebay and such for dirt cheap as well.

BT, it's there.  They just refinished it in MARPAT, therefore it can't be seen [;D]
