I am getting ready to relocate overseas (to a PAL country in Europe) and we are wrestling with a new TV purchase. The best solution would be a true multisystem TV, but there is a price premium on a good LCD/Plasma HDTV w/ multisystem capability.

220electronics.com has PAL-to-NTSC video converters that seem like they would be another solution to this problem.

Has anyone ever used anything like this, and do they work? Would we be able to watch European cable on our NTSC TV with such a device?

nope, i watch pal dvds on the computer, where ntsc and pal are irrelevant.

Thanks for the input, but since I'm not going to be living in TX (but rather in Europe), that solution isn't really a solution for my family and me.
