I'm thinking about trying it.  Any stories, advice, etc?  How's the pay?  I know the schedule is 7 on 7 off most of the time.

You talking offshore or land rigs? I've worked oilfield as a welder on land but never on the rigs. Good money offshore, so I've heard because you don't have anywhere to spend it while your out. If I was single i'd be offshore in a heartbeat.

I"m single.  I was aiming for land, but offshore would be fine.  Is the pay between $40,00-$50,000?
