I was shooting my 300BO SBR over the weekend and went to close the bolt on an empty mag using the BAD lever and the bolt catch broke in half, I'm assuming the bolt catch was a bad cast.

I had a oversized paddle release from brownells that broke in half, was still functional tho as it broke off horizontally.

Obviously you were operating operationally outside operational parameters.

I have BAD levers on everything, no problems so far.

I always thought BADs were a solution looking for a problem...

I've broken a bolt catch without a bad lever, so stuff like that does happen.

Is the torn metal on the inside or outside face of the bolt release?

First time I used one it broke my bolt release.

If you are shooting High Power a BAD lever is awesome for not having to undo your left sling arm, but it's not legal and most people reach under or over with their right had to release the bolt after a mandatory mag change.

Lol.  I never understood the need for a BAD lever.  But then again, as a left handed shooter, I don't really need any gizmos to properly use an AR.

Using a BAD lever when shooting prone is a godsend for manipulating the bolt functions.

I like them, they work on all of my rifles and have never caused any problems over the years and many many thousands of rounds. To each their own.
