I swear I hate my job!  Well, more like who I work for and some that I work with.  I work for a small surveying company and can't begin to tell you all the crap that goes on here.

There are three partners.  The first has a Jeckel and Hyde thing going on, the second is going senial, and the third is just an outright a$$hole with no decernable people skills.

On any given day the first one will be throwing papers all over the work table that's in the middle of the office, about 10' from my desk, and be in a general BAD mood that nobody can talk to him.

The senial one is in the field most of the time and still surveying at 64.  He's usually ok except that he'll start talking endlessly about "back in my day".

The third guy is by far the worst.  He's a total and I mean TOTAL asshole!  His thing is to just belittle people and point out all of their short commings/mistakes, which he makes countless many more.  For instance I spelled a word wrong on a plat (fumble fingered while going to fast, my fault but it was obvious how it happened) he made a point to tell everyone "jokingly" about it.  I just said "Well, when you're perfect let me know so I can ask you."  UGHHH!!!

Then there's a recent college grad ('03) who's the biggest momma's boy I've  ever met!  He faxes everything to his mom before signing it.  He won't even try to take the time to understand it he just faxes it and says its all legal mumbo jumbo I have no clue what it says.  We also have to tell him several, times over how to do something.  He just has no confidence.  I'm convinced that his parents have such a tight grip on him that he never really gained any self confidence.  I try to tell him how to do somehting and instead of doing it he just says that sounds stupid and does it his way ot whines about having to put any extra effort into it.  WTF has happeing in college these days, aren't they being taught a work ethic????

Then there's the wannabe partner-backstabbing-weesel!!  He'll come out to the guy's computer behind me and look at girls online and then go tell the head partner about it to look good.  He burned me too, saying that it was "ok" with him that I chatted with my gf during the day on AIM.  I never really said much we just found it nice to be able to stay in touch during the day.  Of course he wnt and told on me about that.  I found out from the secretary whom he told from some reason.

Then there's the head partner's nephew who is a party cheif and gets away with anything and everything.  He knows the guy does drugs, along with most of the field crews for that matter, and refuses to acknowledge it.  He [partner] wants to bring him into the office too.  that should be interesting since he refuses to dress decently and has dreds.  Not that having dreds is bad but I could see where it looks unprofessional for an office environment and they're [partners] all about it.

UGHHH,  I HATE WHERE I WORK!!!!

I'D RATHER BE SHOOTING!!!

Well, that's my rant....I fell somewhat better now.

Well, I'm actually surrounded by dumb-shits, no goodnicks, nay-sayers, yes-men, asswipes, dickwads, ass-clowns, cowards, liars, backstabbers, AND idiots, but I'm thankful I have a job.

Same here but at least now I can drive around them with my forklift, opposed to working with them.

Would you rather deal with asshole, money-grubbing, totally indifferent lawyers all day while you try to live on the largess of an insurance company?  Quit bitching.  Ops

I like most all the people I work with(sales department in a large Toyota dealership).  Maybe you guys need to look at yourseleves in the mirror.  You really think you are all that much better than your co-workers?  You dont have any flaws?

I work alone....so yeah.

Half the people I work with should get arrested for theft every time they cash their paychecks.

I cannot understand how some of these folks are able to vote and drive cars.  That they are allowed to wander around, unescorted, remains a source of wonder and consternation.

Anyone else surrounded by morons and aholes for 8 hours a day??

Yeah, they are called customers!

Seriously, to quote a famous firearm manufacturer, "This job would be great if it wasn't for the customers!"

Sorry, just had to throw that in. They are everywhere, just a part of life. You need either to learn how to properly deal with them diplomatically or how to avoid them, usually a mix of both.

I'm not saying that I don't have any flaws...far from it.  However, when your boss is and a$$hole and hypocritical 95% of the time you'd probably have to vent once or twice yourself.  Sorry if you misunderstood the intent here.

Nope. I'm salaried. More like 12 hours a day...

And they're not customers, they're employees!

Let me know when this thread reaches page 50.

Honestly, I'm working with great people at a great job, now, but most jobs I have have met the thread description to a "T".

The factory I work in as a maintenance man is staffed by 80% women.

This is a rural factory with quite a few of these lasses missing teeth, lacking in fundamental hygene and any word that is not monosyllabic gets a WTF.

And most of them don't seem to understand I'm happily married.

Yeah, you think you got it bad. Heh.

80% women, think about it.

... Not so much assholes & morons as much as people that do not understand what their role is in the business they receive a paycheck from. It never ceases to amaze me how many people in any give high technology field overlook the very fundamental rules and tools to needed to keep the doors open and in the black.

... Basic cause and effect analysis, business case analysis, statistical analysis ad infinitum.

... If you really, really wanted to make a damned healthy salary, consider consulting for firms that have their heads up their collective asses.

"But first, you have to acknowledge you have a problem."

... Edited to add: I just conjured up a term for this: "Beyond Juran"
!

Well lets see. I have one fellow employee who is also ex-military, & was an armourer, one who's an ex sheriff's dept employee who is pretty nice, but she did rat me out when I told her I posted about a person I bonded out. One lady who is a nice person, just found out she owns 3 full auto's a couple of nights ago when I brought my M-4 receiver in to work on & she new exactly what it was. She is not real bright though, & is always in a jam for making stupid mistakes. One guy who is gay, but otherwise treats me well, but I have been warned never to give him any info he can use against me as he will back stab on every occasion possible. The 2 owners/bosses are the nicest people I have met in Texas. So I guess the answer is no.
Unless you count my customers who are usualy morons, & sometimes, but rarely bungholes.
