I don't shoot anymore and half the shit I'm interested in is banned in this shit hole state. I don't shoot because I do t have the means. Even if I did, I wouldn't have the time with three little ones.
That said, the tech forums don't really do it for me. GD used to be fun. This shit is worse than the last two elections now. Anyway, just feel tired of coming here anymore. The best thread I've seen in months was OP took Subnet to church and the range. Rather heart warming. Anyway, I'm rambling. |
I've gotten burnt out several times over the years. I always take a break...then come back.
I'm getting burned out on Election threads. The other stuff, the funny stuff seems to be getting lost in the background.
Usually when I'm tired of something, I just quit doing it. I don't try to justify to anyone, let alone some random people online, why I'm tired of doing it.
But to answer your question, No. |
weekly NASCAR threads keep me sane.
That, and long term member meltdowns, and random troll threads. |
I click for the laughs mostly, information or EE second.
Remember, no one is holding a gun to your head. |
I don't have time to shoot anymore either. It used to be a job, now I'm married with kids and I can't even get to the range.

12 years and still going strong.
(16 if you count my lurker years, actually). I don't think I would have kept my sanity under 8 years of FBHO without you guys. |
I'm with you OP.
I'm still here a lot, but it's not as fun as it used to be. It's why I didn't re-up....maybe after the election this place will go back to being fun again. |
I haven't owned an AR in several years and haven't bought a gun in probably 10 years. Hell, I haven't shot a gun in at least a year.
I come to ARFCOM for the interesting, non-firearms related threads on subjects like swords, coffee, health/fitness/nutrition, bicycles, etc..... I can't count how many times the knowledge and experience of GD has steered me in the right direction. It's an awesome resource. |
I left for two years when the Obamacare was passed. I thought that there was going to be an uprising and didn't want to be associated with this site. When nothing happened, I used it as an opportunity to explore other areas of interest. Eventually I drifted back. It wasn't the same. Lots of old timers had moved on.

Life is good.
Inventory your existence. Put a price on everything around you. And Make Them ALL Fucking Pay............... |
I'm having fun. CTR is here so maybe not as fun as it used to be....

The Forum don't seem like it used to be, but there's is a lot more liberals today than there used to be on here.

I've gotten very burned out on anything election related, and I usually enjoy following politics.
I've gone shooting once since July. I've gotten involved in scuba diving and that's been holding my attention for the time being. Dive season will be over around the beginning of December and then I'll go back to shooting. I make a point to look for funny threads. I contributed to that with my underwater pumpkin carving thread a couple of days ago. |
Just wait for the post election melt down, this place might just break teh interwebs !!
Sometimes I leave for a day but it's like I'm addicted to GD and Jones for more and come running back.

Nah.
I get it, but there are lots of good threads and good people here. Just gotta find 'em. |
I have been in and out several times usually for not more than a month and usually due to life stuff rather than content.
I'm so busy with personal and business stuff that yes, I've slowed down here. My online time is spent doing self promotion these days...
Eta: plus people just keep buying my memberships, cuz I'm cool like that. |

It's an election year... weather the storm.
Next year the topics will shift to Apocolypse/SHTF after Hillary wins. |
I upped once.
Due in December. Not sure I'll re-up. Too many childish posts in what any reasonable adult would know is a serious thread. Meh, I'm only one. |
Everybody can get burned out on anything. It happened to me, OP. I ended up taking a year and a half break.
I'll agree that taking a break might be in order. At some point, you'll probably feel ready to come back to Arfcom. And when you are, the site will still be here. Sometimes you just need to look after yourself and your own priorities. Nothing wrong with that. |

Avoid the election ones they are depressing. Still fun to be had otherwise.
I'm tired of election talk. Other than that, I still like this place.
Take a break. It's amazing how much shit you can get done elsewhere when you're not on Arfcom all the time.
