Pretty neat.
I'm still Italian (52%)..I am MORE Western Euro than Eastern Euro which is weird as my Great Grandfather was 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Slavic..Say's I am 11% Middle Eastern..huh. Anyone else do it? Kind of neat kick more than anything. |

Congratulations on submitting your DNA to a large database that you'll never be able to get yourself removed from.

I'm basically as white as it gets according to mine. Wales/Ireland less than 1% Greek less don't really understand that.
where's my white privilege I never got mine |

They just have like 10 "profiles " they send out ramdomly. They don't even test the DNA
They just give it to Obama and tell you you're 17 percent Irish. Congrats |

For guys that work out of town, telling a chick your name is Bob Smith used to give you full protection, but when your DNA is on file....

My Sisters both did this. Different companies, but with relatively close results.
We thought we were roughly 50% Ukrainian, 25% German, and 25% Norwegian. Turns out: 46% Eastern European 31% Scandinavian 13% Irish They then broke it down to the other 8% "traces"... 3% Fin 2% Great Britain 2% Iberian Peninsula and less than 1% "Europe West"... Whatever the hell that is... One Sister did 23andme and the other Ancestry.com. The Ancestry.com one seems to parse a large database of haplotypes. I guess that explains why I like vodka, Scotch, and Guinness over schnapps and lagers... |

Both of my parents did the Ancestry test. Just what we expected.
If I was any more white I would look pretty much like this: Attached File |

I did it and there were no big surprises. 52% Western Europe. Bit more Irish than expected at 19% but nothing crazy. My wife on the other hand had a big surprise that still bugs her. She has a very Irish maiden name and her grandmother had a very Irish maiden name. St pattys day was the big holiday for her family growing up. Turns out she is only 8% Irish. I'm more Irish than she is.

Sure did and was a bit surprised , but not much.
32% Italian 28% Great Britain The rest was mix up of western Europe. I would have expected more Norwegian and possibly a hint of Asian in there somewhere |

Sweet, so the next time The Goodfellas comes on, you will feel at home. Well, not 100% at home because you are not 100% Sicilian.

Wife paid for it as birthday gift to me after she did her's, it was $79.00, IIRC after the discount. No discounts is $99.00. They send you a link to your results, map's and others who they think via the sample are/ maybe related to you. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |
