My 22 month old daughter won a raffle for a bike at a local small town shin-dig today.

Went shooting in the rain. First time I have shot in awhile and not being drenched in sweat.

I came home from work six hours early because a sprinkler repair man said he was going to meet me here. In the past 7 hours, he's texted me twice saying he's running late.
That's my exciting event of the day. |
Passed up playing golf to go to work and catch up on the 4 contracts on new projects I got in this week.
Then it was nice when I got home so me and the boy went and checked out our neighborhood retention pond on the golf cart to look for wildlife. Then we went to the park and built a Sandcastle. I'm going to watch a movie and clean my mk.18 when he goes to bed in a minute. |
Definitely have me beat. Yard work, more yard work followed by a healthy side serving of yard work.
Did end up with a cigar and a glass of vino next to the fire pit listening to Frank Sinatra. If anyone ever finds me dead in that scenario, know that I had a good death. |
On the roof cleaning gutters. I hate ladders.
Cleaned out some beds of old plants n rocks n stuff. |
I was out on old John deer tractor and JD baler trying to bale 40 rows of grass hay.
When the baler broke down I was actually happy, screw working when it's over 90 in the fields I'm too old for that shit. |
Worked 7-11:30 then installed a new rear fender on a 2014 duramax after that went to my FFL and picked up my last 9mm pistol lower and my A2 rifle lower.
My plan of sitting on my tractor with my sons prepping the area for my retaining wall was ruined by a bad front wheel bearing on my pickup.

WW2 military display. My buddy and I, 34 rifles, 6 handguns, 3 tables of display crap. Set up at 9, took down at 4. Monday gets to be go through stuff, wipe down, oil, etc.

Got some corned beef seasoned and ready to go on smoker tomorrow, will be PASTRAMI later in the day.
Made a dump run, hauled some recyclables to the recycler, checked on two side jobs, hauled some dirt to the house & did the yards...
First oil change for my truck. Cut the grass. Survived bad winds and thunder storms.
ETA made a dump run. |
Told the girls they were going to be big sisters "again" and "finally".
Spent the afternoon diving on a slip n slide with my 5 year old. I feel beat to shit right now lol

Made an offer on a fishing shack walking distance to the Atlantic

Sat outside and watched a deer for 30 minutes from about 50 yards away. The last 10 minutes there was a cottontail rabbit about 20 yards away. I thought I heard something on the other side of the Rabbit and hoped it was a fox, so I pulled my CCW and went to investigate... I didn't see a fox, but further away I spotted a big groundhog about 80 yards away. I stalked him up to about 20 yards and then he ran into some brush. When I get close to where he was I see him poking his head out from under an old shed. I shot 3 rounds from 20 feet and hit him in the chest 2x and the rear foot once (flopping around after the first 2).

My idiot dog has been eating the plants in the yard and has had diarrhea the last couple of days.
Well today he decided to let loose in the house, thankfully if was on the soapstone and not on the Pergo. So I spent about an hour cleaning and scrubbing dog diarrhea. |
No. Sat on my ass on a beautiful day.
Yesterday I had a bad bout with vertigo, something that has never happened before. Things are considerably better today, but I'm still a little unsteady. |

Took my son and father in law to the range.
We shot the AR, FN2000, G21, LCP and another Ruger. About 1k rounds in all. Took them to lunch then got my hair cut so I can spend a sexy time three day vacation with the wife. It will be the first extended overnight date with her in about 7 years. All in all, a pretty good day. |
House shopping. Super depressed because the house I want is >just< out of our budget and the current offerings are complete shit.

Walked down to the beach. Was going to yell at the people that blocked my drive but turned out to be two cute women. They get a pass.

View Quote Anyway, I went shopping with the wife this morning, and did yard work for most of the rest of the day. Kids helped me mow the lawn, pressure wash the pool deck, pull weeds in the flower beds, plant some pepper plants, and add chemicals to the pool. Grilled twice today, played catch with my son after supper, and brought in the evening by shooting bottle rockets at a raccoon. Not a bad day. |
Spent the first part of the day at church, then later spent time with my son, daughter, and son-in-law. Now I'm watching NCIS, and cruising ARFCOM. There was some discussion of my late wife, which still has me a bit bummed, but otherwise a good day. (Good discussion; just missing her).

I don't know about exciting. But my boy got to play with a M249 and I bought a complete DPMS lower for 149.

Got to work at daybreak and looked for whitetail fawns, did this every two hours in the forty acre area that the pens are in. Watched the radar all day hoping the showers in the area would hit the ranch. I also ear tagged and tattooed the ears of ten whitetal fawns as per Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations for a breeding facility.

Work. Nap.
It rained, so yard work isn't happening. Hanging out inside and working on indoor projects. |
After chores were done, went on an 80 mile solo ride on my road bike with one mile of vertical climbing.
Motorcycle saftey class...first time on a bike ever and I didnt drop it, careen out of control (much) or otherwise die...
Made an attempt to ski the Middle Teton today. Ended up turning around at the saddle do to bad snow conditions. Was still fun though.
