Funny,  I've got two buddies who are the real deal, retired after 18-20 years, and two things jump out at me.  First, they both look a hell of a lot more like college professors than Conan, and second, they'd never mention what they used to do to anybody unless they knew them REAL well.

Reminds me of the old saying about those do talk don't do, those who do, don't talk.
