I have had good luck with refurbs through TigerDirect.  I am not sure their discounts at Dell are as deep.

Lots of guys I work with have ordered from the outlet and had good success.

Just be a smart shopper because stuff there isn't always such a steal.

If I wanted another netbook, I'd happily snatch up the deal you posted.

I have done refurbs from E-bay a couple of times, and was always happy.  The ones I got were Latitudes though, so support was there.  No Netbook experience.

I have a refurb from Dell. Great computer, runs solid. It's the windows that is the problem.

I've bought (and sold) a ton of dell refurbs over the years, haven't bought any in a while since the good discounts/cheap shipping dried up a few years back

Typing on a refurb Dell laptop right now.  It's the wife's.  Also have a refurb Dell netbook.  Would definitely buy again if I got a good enough deal.

As bad as new Dells are, why would you take a risk on a used one?z

I used to order a bunch for the office. Took a wihle if you knew what you wanted to go thru their list that refreshed like every 20 minutes. Many of them were apparently returns and had never been used at all.

I'm not sure the deals are as good now as they used to be. Used to buy one that appeared new and never plugged in for 50% of a new one.

I have, and I used to work at Dell.

The machines from the Dell Outlet are NOT necessarily 'refurbs' in the way you may think about them.  Most are canceled orders, or units that were returned unopened.  The good thing is they are all tested, whereas only maybe 1 in 100 are tested from manufacturing.

I scored a D420 laptop a few years ago for $400 less than new - while I was working at Dell (they only gave employees 10% discounts), so I looked up its serial number and it was just a canceled order - it never went to the customer.

My 22" monitor at home is the same deal.  Scored for a GREAT price from the Dell Outlet a few years ago.  I did get a 17" LCD a while back that would shut off after a few hours.  Good thing is a warranty replacement got there the next morning once I called it in.
