Hated it!!!!

Things I couldn't stand:
1) the "style" of the movie - strange effects added to farious scenes
2) all the jumping from this to that
3) no action
4) no nudity

I can't believe I sat through the whole thing. I guess I was hoping it would get better toward the end. IT DIDN'T

It's a great movie, I happen to love its grainy film style. It's a great story and clearly maps out the reasons why true prohibition will never work. It didn't work with alcohol and it will never work with narcotics. That's the reason why drug busts get bigger every year. It's not that the drug war is working, but that the demand is growing and thus the supply is too. These supplier countries will never put any real effort to stop their drug dealers, the money going south is so massive in some cases it exceed their GNP. You can mine and electrify the border and all it will do is create more drug pushing billionaires.

My favorite part was how Catherine Zeta-Jones goes from being completely clueless about her husband's drug trafficking, into taking over his operation while he's in jail.  She's this pregnant housewife ordering hits on witnesses and negotiating deals with Mexican cocaine suppliers. I thought that was pretty cool.

That movie really sucked !!
I liked that one guy in "Way of the Gun" though, that was MUCH better.

I think I would have to watch it again to see if it was really as bad as I thought it was the first time. I think the only way to describe it is "irritating".

I liked it. I thought it was great how the 4 different stories in the beginnning got all tied-in in the end. Great movie. Good story line and had a message.

It sucked,no doubt about it. Not only was it boring, but I really didn't care much for any of the charachters, except the Mexican cops (Vinitio Deltoro, and his partner).
As much praise as it got, I should have known it was going to suck.

Something even the liberals are starting to figure out. And of course, as I always tell my liberal friends*, "You like the War on Drugs? Wait 'til you see the War on Guns...it'll be just about as effective."

*Yes, I know- contradiction in terms... :^)

Wow--pretty black and white for this film here...either it sucked or was great.  Although it'll never be a movie I'll buy, my wife and I enjoyed it.  I went in expecting a little bit of "alternative" filmmaking technique, so the stylistic changes didn't bother me, and added to the feel of the story.

Some of Steven Soderbergh's other flicks were pretty good, like Erin Brokavich (despite Roberts...good actress, bad politics) and Out of Sight.  But I admit that Soderbergh looks like the Ultimate Liberal with those damn goofy glasses of his.[@:D]

Pregnant or not, if Zeta-Jones was nekkid I probably would have liked it more.

I liked it, it really shows how useless the war on drugs really is. Billions of our tax dollars have been wasted, family homes/cars confiscated, lives destroyed, and you can still buy just about any drug you want on your street corner. What have we accomplished? Nothing Good. Why do kids do drugs? Cause it's easier to get than alcohol. I vote republican mostly for the gun issue but the republicans are the most clueless about handling the drug issue (just say no).

If you said traffic is no good, you dont know the first thing about film.  Extremely well directed, well acted, and covered very valid current social issues.  The only thing i did not like about it was how it mixed marijuana use with cocain use.  Otherwise a fine film, that deserves the academy awards it got.  If you dont own it, buy it....  Buy it twice.  Its good, unless you have bad taste.
