Does anybody here make their own camo? I dont mean the ghillie suit type cammo, I mean something like a smock. Where you take a white garment and dye to your specifications.

I made some once. It worked so well I can't find it now.

Threw my shotty in the washer with my cammies, and the dye ran all over it.

I don't see why it couldn't be , but the questions why go through all the trouble
when you can buy almost any conceivable pattern already done ?

I once did it the other way. I took a pair of BLACK jeans and hung them up on a hanger in the shower. Then threw bleach on them in a strange mottled pattern. Blotched, sprinkled, dabbed.
Then quick-rinse that stuff out! Worked real good for night time ops being black/white pattern.
Prolly work just as well with green or OD stuff.

I've built ghillies for myself and my three boys.

It takes time, but the parts are easy to find.

I'm going to try to paint a digital pattern on something just to try it.

Whe you build a ghillie suit is it true that you have to buy the BDUs a few sizes to big, because they shrink when you attach the netting?
