The ones I've seen that do not require you to remove the rear sight, however you need to make small notches in the stock. I'll try and locate it for you.
As for accurarcy, I've been working up some loads for my M48 using IMR4064 & 180gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. I eventually, have to chrono, but with 45gr of 4064, at 100yrs w/ irons I'm getting about 1 1/4". Definitely looks promising. |

I just had my M48A drilled and tapped for a one piece leupold base. works pretty darn well too.
