I can find a scope mount for a Yugo 8mm mauser.

Looking for the old style.

Have seen some newer designs that look good but attach where (replaces) the rear sight would go. I think I'm looking for the one that comes up off the reciever.

With the addition of decent optics I think the gun would be a badass long distance shooter.

Thanks in advance.

The ones I've seen that do not require you to remove the rear sight, however you need to make small notches in the stock.  I'll try and locate it for you.

As for accurarcy, I've been working up some loads for my M48 using IMR4064 & 180gr Nosler Ballistic Tips.  I eventually, have to chrono, but with 45gr of 4064, at 100yrs w/ irons I'm getting about 1 1/4".  Definitely looks promising.

I just had my M48A drilled and tapped for a one piece leupold base.  works pretty darn well too.

Not sure how well it works, might want to check with the fellas from some of the 'surplus rifle' boardsp077.ezboard.com/bparallaxscurioandrelicfirearmsforums or such before dropping your dime on it.
