I get all my stuff in the newsgroups.  Don't bother using the crappy news servers that your ISP provides.  I have always been able to find anything I ever wanted musicwise there.  A good service to try is www.easynews.com

Thanks for the response ar50troll but it looks like easynews costs $10/month.

Audiogalaxy. I'm sure they are probably anti-gun,(like everything else) but you can get the goods for free.

Audiogalaxy installs spyware to track your web surfing.

Problem:

AudioGalaxy Satellite, a music sharing program, secretly installs a "spy" program called Webhancer. This program not only tracks where users go on the Internet but also reads files on the user's hard drive and sends the information to Webhancer Corp, an "Internet performance company." Although Webhancer states that all information sent to them is anonymous, and is kept private, it is being done without the user's knowledge in the case of AudioGalaxy Satellite.

Description:

The Webhancer program sends information to http://a1.webhancer.com.

Nothing against AudioGalaxy, It is a good program for getting music from off the Internet, but they should get rid of the spy software.

Solution:

Even after un-installation, this webhancer program still runs and continues to send information to http://a1.webhancer.com. At the moment, Merilus recommends to Manually find the webhancer program and delete it.

I think Ad-aware is capable of removing Webhancer, so if you do use Audiogalaxy, you should download Ad-aware from Lavasoft and see if it can remove Webhancer from the Audiogalaxy installation.

About the best thing now is Kazaa.  It is just like the "old" Morpheus.  It does have spyware but you can download Ad Aware to take care of that.  The new Morpheus sux...I actually got connected, started to download a song, and got disconnected.

This is al you will ever need.  I get about 20 to 30 songs a day off of WinMX.  I am up to close to 120GB now of MP3's :)

I use Kazaa, but it won't run if you you use Adaware to zap the spyware.  You can get bogus spyware from www.cexx.org that will fool most programs into thinking the spyware is still installed.
