Not judging just asking.

I saw my cousin shoot a mutual friend in the lower torso right beside his belly button with a glock 22. My cousin was playing with the pistol bc my friend let him see it. Yeah stupid and my friend lived with no major complications. Surgery removed two inches of lower intestine.. The shot was about 18 inches away,  a true through and through..
But I was 18, my cousin was 19 and our mutual friend was 22. Just playing with it and blam, gun went off.. Friend had that pistol a month...

I know he pulled the trigger,  nothing happened, it was judged an accidental shooting and agreed upon by us three. Still has the pistol..

Yeah there was stupidity all over that, but anyway,  I digress

Drunk people and "cleaning" guns never mix and a load of bird shot will kill you dead...after you have called 911, waited 7 minutes and walked to the ambulance.

That is pretty much it, drunk guy shoots other drunk guy with a 12ga load of 7.5 birdshot from about a yard to the chest, guys call 911, we arrive about 7 minutes later, after LEO cleared the scene and shot drunk guy walks to the ambulance. Died later that night.

Damn that's crazy.  What do you think did him in?  The trauma? Enough little holes to bleed out?

You should send that gun back to Glock. Most modern firearms don't "go off"

Family member and I were cleaning Glocks at the kitchen table. I go through the proper clearing procedures and disassemble. He doesn't.

He pulls back slightly on the slide and pulls down on the slide lock lever, pulls the trigger to remove the slide and *BANG*... my ears start ringing. Scared the shit out of me. The round went through the wooden table and barely missed my legs (he was at the head of the table and I was sitting right next, to the left of him with my feet extended to the other side of the table).. The round entered the hardwood floor where it is still lodged today. I'll never know how close I was to being hit but I'm assuming it was very close. He learned a valuable lesson. I won't shoot with him unless I can clear his weapons after we're done shooting.

It's not mine to send off.  Friend still has it. And yes your right.  If you reread, my cousin pulled the trigger.  I've got several glocks. They don't go off until you pull the trigger. I didn't see it,  but i know he pulled the trigger.

Edit: I've dropped my 23 more than once with one in the chamber and it didn't go off. One time on a concrete driveway. Still got the etch marks in the tenifer from that drop. Hell i dropped it and it rolled down half a flight of stairs, with one in the pipe, and somehow bounced through the railings, yes, bounced over an 8 inch moulding to boot, dropped another 10 feet onto tile and didn't go off. I was appalled to say the least..

He pulled trigger..

Seen a few and a few more with people who accidentally shot themselves.

One guy just got his concealed carry and was showing his buddies a NAA .22 derringer at a bowling alley.  They get into a argument on if it's real or not.  CC guy gives the buddy the gun, who promptly cocks it and shoots in into a table top.  It was loaded with rat shot and peppered a girls back with numerous tiny bleeding holes.   Brilliant.

Quite a few people who shot their hands while "cleaning".

One semi famous guy who decided to twirl his 357 revolver for his buddies while at a party and shot himself in the gut, almost died.

One time, the back stop at a range made a round ricochet. it took out the headlight in my truck.

Word got around in the typical GD fashion and the word on the street was "Roebuck shot his truck".

word got around the grapevine, and i had a visit from the cops asking why i shot my truck.

Mexican carry + S&W 1066 = someone getting shot in the leg. The gun owner fumbled the pistol while drawing, instinctively grabbed tighter(with finger on the trigger of course), and shot my friend in the leg.

Same story here. Idiot working on his carry gun. Takes it out for the umpteenth time, forgets to clear it and goes to disassemble it.  He had the gun pointed down when he pulled the trigger, but the bullet ricocheted and maintained enough velocity to embed in wood near my head.

My good friend shot the window out of our trailor after going hunting, a 30-06 is super loud indoors.
I cant believe my father hasnt shot and killed anyone, He has the worst trigger discipline of anyone I have ever seen.
Countless friends and family have told him to keep his finger off the trigger but he refuses. I tell him to just straighten his trigger finger but he insists that he cant hold a gun unless his finger is in the trigger guard. He constantly muzzle sweeps you all the time. My sister who teaches conceal carry classes has told him multiple times if he were her student she would instantly fail him and he cant comprehend why.
He also thinks that you shouldnt use hollow points for self defense, round nose is better...

Had a cop friend do the same thing with me in a vehicle. He was showing me how easy it was to disassemble the gun. Lucky he was left handed in the passenger seat and I didn't have to replace a window. It was loud inside a car with the windows up. The round did go through my car door though.

Shot my brother in the face with a pellet gun.

I'd put a cherry on the muzzle, one pump, aimed it at him.  Forgot that there was a pellet behind the cherry.

I was lucky the cherry slowed the pellet, otherwise it could've been bad.

That was 25 years ago or so.

When I was a young newb shooter, my friend was showing me his new Sig. He unloaded and cleared it, and went to hand it to me.

As he did so, he fumbled and dropped the pistol. We both instinctively went to catch it, and I caught it about waist height, pointed at his belly 8 inches away, and my grasping fingers pulled the trigger.

I was and to this day am still horrified. Thank god he had properly cleared the pistol. That "click" sounds as I looked down at the gun pointed right at my friend is something I'll remember till the day I die.

DO NOT TRY TO CATCH A FALLING GUN.

My brother (a "well trained" SRT member)and I were helping my folks move out of their house.  We are in their closet clearing shit out when he comes across step dad's pellet gun (a basic CO2 powered rig), he kept it loaded to annihilate the birds and squirrels in the backyard.  "Well trained" SRT member brother grabs pellet gun, places muzzle (maybe an 1/8" away) against my inner, right quad, and squeezes the trigger.  Since it was summer, of course I was wearing shorts this day.

It did hurt but it took a couple minutes after he shot me for me to realize the pain.  He stood there for a minute with this "oh shit, it was loaded" look on his face as I am yelling for my step dad to come grab his .270 before "well trained" SRT member decides to see if it was loaded also.

It's only been 8 years since that occurred and I have zero qualms when it comes to reminding Instructor Zero about how fucking ignorant he is/was.

A minor outpatient "procedure"to extract the pellet, and alas, I survived.

I was shooting in a SASS match and a 200-gr .45 RN bounced off a steel plate and hit me in the forehead, dead center.  Raised a big goose-egg and I had double vision for about an hour.  Went to the ER and had a CAT scan, no I'll effects.  Saved the slug, perfectly mushroomed.

Working as an RO at a class-III NFA club shoot, had a guy ND a integral-supressed Bowning Buckmark .22 into the butt cheek of the guy standing about ten feet to his left on a hot firing line.  Guy went down with a squawk, blood dribbling out of the entrance wound at an alarming rate.  President of the club was pissed that I called a cease fire ("I don't see why the rest of us have to stop shooting just because HE got shot!").

My bosses at County were super pissed that I rendered first aid--we were told to NEVER give any kind of assistance other then calling 911 and giving the injured party access to a first aid kit.  Fear of getting sued, they said.
