As I walked out to my car this morning, I saw hair hanging out of my tailpipe all the way down to the ground.  I was in hurry and had remote-started the car about 20 seconds earlier to get the oil moving.  [Yes, I'm a gadget freak.]  The car sounded like it was running ok, so I figured that there wasn't anything blocking the exhaust too badly.  I grabbed a flashlight and a glove and tried to pull the hair out.  With a little tugging, a lot of really long (9-12 inches) grey hair came out, but I couldn't see anything else!

Anybody have any ideas?  Does this sound like a prank?  They really didn't look like animal hairs; too long.  I'm stumped.

No, the hair was all matted together.  The stuff that was hanging down to the ground wasn't attached to anything but more hair.  Couldn't tell if the hair farther up was attached to anything else.  I'm all paranoid now.

Somebody stuffed a wig in your tailpipe?

Couldn't have been anything like fiberglass, could it?  Some mufflers use strands of it.. Though if that much of it came out your car would sound a lot different.

Ya know, I was wondering about that, but the car doesn't sound noticably louder than yesterday.
