use it as a lefty selector switch? I'm dremeling mine right now. Ambi safety's for AR's are like 30 bucks, while standard ones are 5 or 6, and I have a couple of them lying around anyways.

I'm just dremeling the cut into the side where the selector switch actually sits. Seems to be cutting OK so far.

I'm just using a dremel with a couple different sized diamond wheel points.

Any pointers or tips?

Uh... you're machining out part of the "barrel" so you can install it from the other side, right?

Interesting. Post pics.

AR or AK??

This sounds interesting!

The AK selector / safety is on the right side of the gun, so if you are a lefty, it is already pretty natural.

Don't think that there is much to dremel that would give your thumb or finger purchase on the safety / selector on an AR.

Please post us some pics of your project!

Yes. The side of the barrel WITH the switch itself.
There's right handed selectors, and ambi selectors. I'm a lefty, and the ambi selector gets in the way of my left trigger finger.
I want a selector ONLY on the right side of the weapon, so my left thumb will actuate it.

It's pretty crude right now. This is the first cut, and I'll probably consume a couple selector switches trying to get it right, but I wonder why nobody has come up with this before (that I'm aware of).

I'll take some pics real quick, hang on. Again, it's rough, but it's very simple. For someone who has better skills than I do at this sort of thing, it would be a quick and easy fix.

AR 15 selector.

OK, I just realized I cut them backwards, and have the thing pointing the wrong direction for "safe".

Gimme a few more minutes for those pics.

Tweak had a left-handed GF that owned an AR with the lever on the right side. Not sure where they got it.

Tag. I've thought about it, but never actually done it.

So tagged, as I'm also a Lefty.

I fucked up pretty good on the first selector; give me a few minutes to work on the 2nd, as I know what NOT to do now.....

I'll try and get a quick couple of pictures in a few minutes.

Hell yeah!!

I might even carve some cool designs in the receiver!

Actually, I'm interested in this. My son is a lefty. Might be something interesting to see.
