After looking on some of the other forums like glocktalk.com, 1911forum.com, and berettaforum.net it suprises me I haven't heard of it happening around here. Or maybe it does and I just haven't looked hard enough. The only thing thats happend to me is I bought a AR lower kit for $50.00 and got cheap crappy parts. I didn't know they were cheap until I had to replace the hammer three months later though. I would have written the guy who sold them to me a nasty-gram, but I don't even remember who it was that sold them to me.

Ive literally done a dozen deals on here.  All went smooth as silk up until the last, and thats still being resolved.

He has my money, and I have nothing.

I've bought, sold and traded. 8 or 10 transactions, all went smoothly.

I guess I should have mentioned that too. The cheap parts where only one of maybe 10-12 transactions I've had here.

I bought my Krebs AK103K off the EE.

That was my biggest purchase.  Came exactly as promised despite my FFL woes.

I bought several things, without a hitch.....it is  my preferred way to buy AR stuff.

Steyr sold me a Barrett, does that count?

AZ_Shooter AKA Patrick Hooper got me for around $400 for an upper.

Paid him with Paypal, they recovered $150 or so, credit card company got the rest returned.

There were many people on this board that were claiming that Energizer was ripping them off on the AR-15 watch deal.  It got very very ugly.  There was NO ripoff.  It was just the internet mob mentality with absolutely zero facts for their basis.
I would say no one was ripped off, except maybe Energizer, in the watch deal.

Twice

AR-15 A2 stock -ARF commer paid for a RR short stock..I accidentally sent the wrong one..when he informed me I sent out the correct stock and asked for my new A2 stock back..Paying for the shipping back to me of course..Never got the stock back emails unanswered etc This guy was not a newby and I havent checked lately to see if he still posts..

Paint Ball Gun (for my nephews birthday) I asked about PBGs and was contacted by a really helpfull cheery sort of fellow from GA
who owned a PB business had a couple of new guns offered me a good deal on one send him money via pay pal..(and of course since the guy sounded trustworthy and Im cheap I didnt give pay pal the extra moolah for ins)...no gun ..no return email..unanswered phone calls...and we were out $120 bucks for gun and acessories

I did not check this guy out throughly...shoulda checked his post count
Then I would have seen he was a newbee and I got suckered...

It happens..you want security pay a little more and buy local...even then you might not get it..

Not since MarV (Stenhammer) left.

I've probably done about 50 or 60 arfcom transactions with no problems, including Marv S. (TOP).

The only negative dealing I've had in many, many transactions here at AR15.com was getting ripped off to the tune of about $200 by AZ_Shooter (Pat Hooper).

Aside from him, I've bought and sold many things here without a hitch.

Done a bunch of buying, selling and trading since the days of the old board.  Never had a problem.  I am cautious though and take my time making deals until I am comfortable with the other party.  Big ticket deals have always been done with well-known and respected members, and those I have seen here for a long time.

Yup.  That @%&!^ got my money too...... I got "some" stuff.  One or two items, but not the entire order....

Edit-
I think every forum has a few bad deals.  It all depends on how many people are scammed and how much.  Bad view, but it's true.

Quietshoez in Michigan recieved a package from me last Monday, and I haven't heard from him since then.  He owes me an L1A1.  Hopefully he is not attempting to rip me off, but I suppose it is too early to tell.

Other than that, all my deals have gone well.

I've done a couple dozen deals here and have been more than satisfied.
Most were in better condition than advertised.
Some even took it on themselves to give more than mentioned in the the deal.
A few years ago I bought a preban that looked like it had never been fired. That was way cool because he said it was in good condition...not fucking brand new.
Not to hijack but ebay is full of crooks and fools and while I occansionally hear of bad apples here most live by a code of good ethics.
As a rule of thumb "Never give out or loan out more than you can afford to lose".

A couple of years ago a buddy of mine was ripped of by a dude that posted here. Its was for a Colt SP1 and he tagged him for $1100. This place is not immune to the rip off artists so be careful. That being said I've purchased a bunch of stuff here without a problem. I've had more problems with people saying they want to buy something and them you never hear from them again.

Yea, dead beat buyers suck. You get about 5 guys saying "I'll take it" and you naturally give the first guy to say "I'll take it" dibs. 2 weeks after not getting answers from emails and phones calls to the first guy, the other 4 are now not interested or have bought something else and I can't blame them. So you start over.

I made 2 big purchases here. One woth $1000 and the other worth $1500. Both went without any problems. The $1500 purchase I used a Escrow service adn thar only cost me $36 extra for the service. I would purchase again from here.

I've had my first WTF is happening transaction here w/in the last 30days. 3 weeks ago, moniker *schapman43* emailed me he recieved my M.O. and would mail out my item promptly. I've recieved nothing, he does not return my emails for the last 3 weeks, he seemed genuine enough. Schapman@ email address, mailing address also, schapman43 as his moniker here too, our 'interaction/dealing' on the item seemed up'n'up...........seems quite odd, unless he's dead or in jail its strange not to tend to your "stuff" in 30 days.

I'm out $278.62 to "xherkload" aka Dirk Barrett/Southern Small Arms in TN.  I paid for some GG&G mounts and stuff in July and he disappeared. [pissed]
Other that that POS, I've had probably 20 or so transactions that went great.

4 total transactions for less than a 1000.00 total. Mags, ammo, lower.

In the end all have turn out fine.

The worst was :I bought a NIB complete lower. Lets just say it was a less than quality product. The vendor said they would replace it and they made good on the promise and replaced it. [:D]

I spoke with a IPSC buddy of mine loking for some AR mags about a week ago . I tried to turn him on to the E&E but he balked because " Its the internet " .

I've only delt with team members and industry partners.

I have purchased a few items from EE.  Never a problem![:D]  I think the feedback threads really help.  If you look up who you are sending mony to and there is a bunch of negative comments about him, then you may want to send your business somewhere else.  With the exception of a few dickheads I think the people here are pretty decent.

Very good response all the time.  Bought, sold, no problems.  Had a case where I thought a hosing was in store but it turned out they guy was way over extended in commitments.  Ended up getting all the stuff for free.  600.00 worth on a 100.00 outlay.  I can't complain.
