Perhaps she is trying to come to terms with the realization that this was the resolve and determination that Bill should've had and displayed in '93 after this first WTC attack, again after the embassy bombings, and yet again after the Cole. So many missed opportunities (and camel butts)!

My guess is that she intended to very publicly convey unspecified dissatisfaction with unspecified elements of the speech - an old political ploy so that later, if something goes all tits-up - and something probably will, this is a war of some sort after all - she can whine and pout and with the benefit of hindsight, explain what she meant by slow-clapping, grimacing and gesturing dismissively, and how she could have made a better decision if she were President. [puke]
But I agree - it did look like she might have been trying to hold in alien spooge... Edited to add that I thought it was a d*mn fine speech. |

"She just saw her hopes to run for president next time around go up in smoke." Down radio dial in New York, nationally syndicated talker Don Imus was even harder on the former firstlady. "She was disgraceful," Imus told his partner Charles McCord. "She looked irritable, rolling her eyes and talking." Imus didn't care much for Sen. Clinton's post speech comments either. "I mean, she was going out of her way to point out how she'd spent the entire week down at ground zero, which is not true, by the way. But I think we know what that's all about." Imus then turned his ire towards Mrs. Clinton's husband. "I just thank God that he's not still the president, that's all, because we didn't have to endure the self aggrandizing display of lip-biting and head wagging and 'I love you' to some bimbo in the balcony." |
