I just got home from MEPS. Did good on everything but barely failed the hearing part of the physical.

Besides putting cotton in my ears all day before I take it what else can I do? I r eally want to get in the Army....damn hearing.

Of course I did not tell them but I do have some hearing loss. And have known about it for years. Recruiters thinks I can get in with a waiver...but damn I don't want a pussy MOS. I'd rather be at least infantry. I got my airbourne physical as well. I wanted ranger. My scores looked bad compared to most guys but they said I "barely" failed and they wanted me to come back. So maybe I have a chance.

The last ones are hard to hear over your breathing. I pushed the button where I thought a beep should be present. You're screwewd, buddy!

Some other guy was there and said he hardly heard shit. Said he just kept pushing the bottom. He passed the damn thing.

I'm gonna keep going back till I luck into it, actually pass it, or they tell me I can't come back.

I'd say that for the most part, hearing loss is irreversible. Protect your ears as well as you can now to minimize future loss.
