I have always wanted to try it out being that I have either lived in FL or CA but never have. Lately I have been seriously contemplating it but have no idea how to start out. What can you tell me about it? Thanks.

I've been at it for close to 40 years and my son has been surfing since he was three, he's now 33 and owns a surfboard manufacturing business.

Is there a surf shop near you ?

If so, go there and ask questions, questions and more questions, they'll be happy to help you.

Here's a quick little tutorial: Learning to Surf

When using a boogie board, wear a vest or you will get "board rash"
