I'm stocking up on canned goods and just overall emergency supplies and I'd like to have a stockpile of something that's somewhat edible. I'd like to keep it around a buck a can but I'm open.

The Stagg Chili in a box is actually not half bad.  I don't know how long they keep though since they are boxxed instead of canned.

I'm suprised no one has named the greatest chili ever create by man yet.  Cattle Drive chili from Costco.  Everyone I know who has ever tried it agrees that no chili comes close to it.

+1

I've heard Wolf is good, haven't tried it though.

And to paraphrase someone in a thread we had here a long time ago... "If it doesn't have beans, it's just meat soup!"

I like to take 2 cans from different makers and put them together.

Like Stag with beef mixed with Hormel or Dennisons.

Tends to mellow out some of the things I don't like about either of the two.

I buy Hormel, with no beans.  Good for my hot dogs, or if I just want something to warm me up.  Make sure you have plenty of saltines, too!

A big ol' +1 on Campbells Chunky.  That's some good s#@! right there. (pardon the pun)

Sizzlin' Steak and Roadhouse are my favorites.

If you have a Trader Joe's near you, their Turkey Chili in the red cans is excellent.  Thick and delicious.  I also like Skyline Chili (yes, even the canned kind), but you kind of have to have fresh chopped onions, cheddar cheese and spaghetti noodles for that, or it's just not right.  Skyline in a can is actually pretty expensive though.  TJ's is cheaper and better.
