..I've seen a lot of talk about hitting up the folks in line with offers higher than the buyback price to score a FTF steal. Has anybody tried/done it? I hate that buybacks are even happening but hot damn, I'd imagine if someone really did it they could make off with a lot for a little.

I'm also interested.  I would scrounge up some cash and go down there in a heartbeat.  However...I want to think the fuzz would scare you off pretty quick, if not arrest you for some made-up bullshit law.

I've got a couple pieces of shit around here that could only barely be labeled firearms using the loosest legal definition that I could sell off.

But since the area I'm in is extremely conservative there's about a snowball in hell's chance of there ever being a buyback.

You probably wouldn't want most of the crap that gets turned in.

Basically a bunch of bad guys turning in PsOS and ending up with enough to buy a good weapon.

I feel this way.

If Aunt Lucy had a gun in her home from her late father, husband whom ever and just wanted it gone the easiest way with no strings, then the buy back idea is for her.

99% of those gun gems are broken, rusted and most likely junk. So I don't care if she gives them away. Anyone with a brain should know of a pawn shop or gun store that would give her much more $$ than any buy back program.

Oh, anyone can stand with a 4X8 sign across the street and try to buy these gems before the cops destroy them....I never tried.

I guess one may be happening in tuscon here in AZ.   I might drive down there with 1k just in case. Would be sweet to pick up some nice guns for a few hundred a piece.

Word..I'd honestly be a little nervous to try myself, but do report back if you give it a shot.

Not yet.  The closest was a prosecuting DA who stole 20k $ of guns from the evidence lock-up  Yep, got popped and is spending time  Bids went out to FFLs and the lucky winner got a whole bunch of nice guns.  IIRC I bought 5 of those guns.  That's my kind of 'buy back".
