Hi guys,
Just curious if there is anywhere to get a legitimate, free history report (at least major accidents)?
Or at least a cheaper one that actually works.

I'd like to avoid the $40 carfax if possible.

Appreciate any help. Thanks!

I can't find any reviews on any of the other vin check sites other than carfax.

Is carfax really the only choice?

in Virginia you can send in a request and they will send you any collision or salvage history. i have no clue if any other state DMV will do that.

Not that I've heard of.
I find it hard to believe that $40 (carfax) is the cheapest way to find out if a car has had any accidents reported.
