I'd love to be able to get the $270 Surefire light/forend combo, but don't have the $$

Does anyone know of a less expensive way to mount a flashlight to my shotgun?  Maybe some sort of mag tube clamp for a Maglight or smoething?  It doesn't have to be a pressure-switch tactical setup - this is for my home defense shotgun, and I just want a decent flashlight mounted on the shotgun for houseclearing duty and occasional outdoor boarder-repelling duties :)

Here's my 1300 Defender.  It was built about a decade or more ago so there's newer stuff out there but this one's cheap and rugged.  Got access to newer shotguns but the 1300 is still my favorite.  Dependable, smooth operating with the double balanced actuators and the "pre-cocking" feature is the fastest action I've tried in a pump shotgun.

Arock - do you know what the name of that mount setup is that you have?  It is EXACTLY what I am looking for.

GW, There's no marking on the mounts that I could find.  On Thursday call Ron Rutledge at McClelland's Guns in Dallas at 214-321-0231 and ask him.  Ron is a proponent of 1300's and his gunsmith installed the mounts when we built the Defender (and services it as well).  Ask Ron for the 1300/MiniMaglight magazine tube mount.  Ping me back if you have any problems.  Always good to find another 1300 shooter.

Seriously though...are you wanting a super bright "blind'em" light or just a regular light?  Every gunshow usually has somebody selling mag tube light mounts for the AA MagLites & pressure switch endcaps.  Not bright enuff for blinding but should suffice for across the bedroom target ID.
