[Last Edit: 3/27/2006 5:35:54 PM EST by R-32]
I have a case of C-Rats still intact with the wire bundleing

The case shows October 11 1968, I also have a couple of individual meals so I opened one of the meals, the Apple Sauce is bloated, but the rest looks just fine.

I have eaten several MRE's and LRPP rats, and when I was a kid I ate the C's but I dont think I will eat these.

I was wondering if this is something that the reenactors buy, or am I just going to let these things sit forever....

If I had a digicam that was worth a darn I would open them up and post pics just for the "Cool Factor" to the kids here that never got the chance to see them.

To a serious collector, um, I'd say $87.

they're worth what someone will pay for them. maybe haul them to a gun show and try to hock them there.

Depends on how hungry you are

They are probably worth at least 48 rolls of Toliet Paper and 12 hours in the shitter!

In all honesty, I dont want to do that, because some "Commando" will try and eat them, and I dont want that to be on my mind.

The same way I feel about MRE's...

But I was thinking some reenactment group would want a shot at them before I turned them into a paper weight.

Yes they are worth a bit of money from a collectors standpoint. Put them on Ebay for sure.

I took a shot - I knew it was spelled wrong, but felt too lazy to look it up.

hey, I happen to have liked C-rats!

they were better than 1st gen MRE's!
Link Posted: 3/27/2006 7:06:55 PM EST
If none of the cans have burst or the case/boxes are not stained, they have value to collectors and reenactors. Too old to eat.

Dunno what they're WORTH, but I'll give you a dollar to eat em
Link Posted: 3/30/2006 1:03:12 AM EST
Considering these are Vietnam era C-Rats, this should make the collector appeal a bit greater.
