I met them once in Fairbanks AK when they played at the Carlson Center. Spent about 45 minutes yapping with them as we watched ice float down the Chena river. Concert security does have it's perks

operator out...

Priest Live is one of the greatest live albums EVER!

I was a fan in high school (mid - late 70's) until I found out that Robert Halford liked to honk jakes.
Link Posted: 12/23/2005 12:25:56 PM EDT
Some of Rob Halford's solo stuff is pretty heavy. Ever heard Betrayal? I don't know how it's possible for a human to sing like that:

Will you go to heaven
Will you land in hell
Are the things you're praying for
The things that serve you well?

Did you get satisfaction
Have you paid the price
Can you look me in the eye
Say you found paradise?

Betrayal, you are what you choose
Betrayal, got everything to loose
Betrayal, one day you'll know
Betrayal, you reap what you sow

Sell your soul for mercy
Heed the reapers call
Waiting for that heart attack
Your back's against the wall
Stealing from tomorrow
Is no way to live
But when you've got no future
Then there's nothing left to give

Betrayal, you are what you choose
Betrayal, got everything to loose
Betrayal, one day you'll know
Betrayal, you reap what you sow

So when you get to heaven
When you land in hell
Are the things you're praying for
The things that serve you well?

Betrayal, you are what you choose
Betrayal, got everything to loose
Betrayal, one day you'll know
Betrayal, you reap what you sow

Seen them in concert back in the day. I own a few CD's.
Link Posted: 12/23/2005 12:27:20 PM EDT
Yep - this Bible-thumping "fundie" was a leather-and-spike clad headbanger in his younger and much-wilder days...

... and I don't care how gay he was, Halford put on a great live show back in the day.

Electric eye,Breaking the law,Love bites......oh HELL yeah.

Who cares if he's a pole smoker they still rocked.
Link Posted: 12/23/2005 12:51:10 PM EDT
Head out to the highway was one of the best, if not the best song they did.

"Metal Gods" is one of the greatest tracks ever laid down IMO.

I have most everything Priest has ever put out.

Halford's gayness notwithstanding JP is at the top of my list along with Maiden.

My 25 yo wife has a hard time understanding the attraction sometimes but she has developed an affinity for Ozzy and Sabbath.

I saw them on this recent Angel of Retribution tour, they kicked ass.

Are any of you former fans really concerned if he is gay? Scared he is going to seduce you?

I think Iv'e seen'um twice in concert,at least once that I can remember back in the 80's
Link Posted: 12/23/2005 2:29:06 PM EDT
I've seen them twice in the past 2 years. Ozzfest '04, and this past summer w/Queensryche. They are just as good now live as they were back in the day. And I could care less that Halford is a pole smoker.

PRIEST KICKS ASS !!!

I don't give a shit if Halford is gay, it's not like he dresses up like a fufu or lisps when he sings. There music just is awesome.
