I dismissed the first "burst" around 3pm EST as possible thunder OR 105mm HE rounds at the range. I gave up on the range idea due to where the sound came from and that boys wouldn't be dragging stuff out in the rain/snow/sleet on New Year's Eve. "Burst" #2 @ 6:46pm shook the house...thunder? Hmmmm...unlikely. It was loud and really shook the house. "Burst" #3 @ 8:46pm....2hrs apart?? Strange for thunder to be on a time schedual. The only other thing I could think of is some sort of sonic boom. I've heard them before and this definately reminds me of them. We have F-16's in Burlington but the don't usually fly East towards the mountains. It would also be odd to have two sonic booms over the same area 2hrs apart?? Don't tin foil hat me...[:D]...just wondering if anyone else has this going on.

LOL! Well I can definately confirm in the last 10mins we had lightening and rolling thunder. Must be the stuff earlier was some weird cloud burst or something. As for the Canadians invading Vermont, they do that every weekend and we just stay off the roads :)

I smelt one a couple minutes ago but the funny thing is that there was no sound? [:)]

A Floridian, a New Yorker and a Canadian are in a bar one night having a beer. The New Yorker drinks his beer and suddenly throws his glass in the air, pulls out a gun and shoots the glass to pieces. He says "In New York our glasses are so cheap that we don't need to drink from the same one twice". The Canadian [obviously impressed by this] drinks his beer, throws his glass into the air, pulls out his gun and shoots the glass to pieces. He says "In Canada we have so much sand to make the glasses that we don't need to drink out of the same glass twice either". The Floridian, cool as a cucumber, picks up his beer and drinks it, throws his glass into the air, pulls out his gun and shoots the New Yorker and the Canadian. He says "In Florida we have so many New Yorkers and Canadians that we don't need to drink with the same ones twice."

Noone's boomed us up here in Milw... Then again, there's not much worth crashing into up here, so the WI ANG probably isn't too busy... Other areas, however, the AF or Navy probably has a decent number of planes up... FAA allready banned civillian flying over 'probable targets' (times square, etc) and such...
