The lady can cook, is a sweetheart, and she's not afraid to eat absolutely anything!

One thing's for sure, I'm hopefully going to visit Savannah, GA where her restaurant is and visit her restaurant.  Can't wait!

Wife and I tried to get a reservation in her Savannah restaurant a few years ago, no dice, needs to be made months in advance.

We did find other excellent eating establishments in Savannah though.

Now we'll take some butter, coat it with lard, dip it in oil, and deep fry for 5 minutes...

Some of her food seems great, but a lot of it is a bit heavy for my tastes.

I, too, seem to have an odd attraction to this woman.

I live here. In Savannah.

Be prepared to wait in line.  LOOOONG lines.

Spend a week here and you'll know that Paula Dean is the only "Savannian" that talks with an accent like hers.

Yeah, its a good show.

She annoys me, and her cooking is all old balls Southern comfort food.  I guess it's boring because I already know all about her style of cooking.

My company's annual conference is in Savannah in October...we've got the whole 'house' reserved for dinner at her place.  Looking forward to being there.

Don't know that I know all about her style of cooking, but she is annoying. That accent, that laugh, those rings . . .

I'm personally disgusted by the amount of pork she uses.

Yes, I watch. I wish she was my grandma.

She cooks like my Grandma used to. You can't eat that stuff everyday and not look like her husband but it's damn good every once in a while.

You mean: "Paula Dean... The Butter Queen?" That woman LOVES to cook with butter

[PaulaDean]"Sometimes, on a cold winter night, I like to curl up under a blanket while sipping a nice hot cup of melted butter. And sometimes I even like to melt a lump of bacon fat in the butter to add flavor"[/PaulaDean]

Seriously though... she is AWESOME.. love to watch her.

That's a riot!! I can just hear her voice in my head!

The wife and I love her show.

I crack up when she calls a piece of meat "him"

She was a knockout in her younger days. I bet she liked to raise some hell!

*shrug*  Pork fat isn't nearly as common as it used to be.  At one point it was the king fat in the US.

Annoying +1000.  By the way Paula, it's called a "baking sheet" not a "bacon sheet".... Sheesh! And when she says "ya'll" she sounds like a donkey braying.

She reminds me of that ad Food Network ran, where a guy married a hot girl's mother because she's a good cook.

"You bad boy.  I cook!"

Bacon flavored butter...  my left arm gets numb just for typing that.

Drove up from Sea Island on a whim this summer and got right in - guess we were lucky. Wife might have worked some ins - she doesn't always tell me.

Food was very good - some of the best Scallops Ive had in a long time  - huge. The foods down home, little greasy, but I liked it. Couldnt do it everyday tho. Its worth a trip - as is Savannah.

As said, plenty of good food around - when we were there, Uncle Bubbas (Paula's Brothers place) was closed w/o explanation - was kinda disappointed.

Luck
