This is probably a good move on your part. You do not need the additional stress that comes with moderating this board especially since you have an upcoming surgery. Even if we had our differences before, I will pray for your surgery to be a success. I also hope that in the meantime, you will take it easy and rest. Try to have a positive outlook (even if it is hard, try anyway) on life and savor each and every day that passes by with the people you love. Again, take care and be safe respectfully, riddler |

The GD is where 99.9% of the bullshit and garbage stems from and flows into, which tries all our patience. Personally I wouldn't mind if it just happened to disappear.
When I think along those lines, I realize that the site's not just a place for information about the AR15, but also a place for gun owners to share their thoughts and views about a number of things, that usually around the time when I hit CANCEL at the delete confirmation screen... Amen to that GB,
I joined the GD moderating team when it was just DonR and AntiUSSA in '99. First line I got from them when I joined them was "Welcome to the trenches.....". Moderating the GD forum can be a 24/7 task, but it cant be for the obvious reasons. Anti always got the most flak because he was and IMO still is the most, for lack of better terms, agressive one of us. He wont take any shit and always had the site in mind when moderating here. Anti, check your mailbox and please get back to me some time. Feel it's a damn shame if a minority on this site is the cause of you leaving. Kuiper |

AntiUSSA, I support you 100%. I think it's a real shame when someone who cares as much as you do and did as good a job as you has to be targeted by a few who just will not behave.
Definately take it easy and just let go of the stress. Your health is more important than a glorified cyber-babysitting gig! I wouldn't want to moderate GD, that's for sure! GB, I understand your sentiments about the GD forum too! But, for all the fecal subject matter that gets thrown around, there are still lots of valid and interesting topics discussed, and I think it adds greatly to the site. There are a lot of off-topic subjects that we members have in common and it helps us get to know each other. Thanks both of you for all you do here! As for the troublemakers, I don't even have a problem with any of you! Hell, it's a free country. But now that Mc has his own site, it would be nice to keep that content over there and let this place regain some semblence of civility. Personally I like McUzi. At least for all the better I know him from what little contact I've had. But he has gone over the edge a few times. Now he has his own room with no edge to go over and I think that's good too. |

Anti, I never dealt with you personally but always thought your posts and info to be well-received. Its too bad that some people are assholes to those who contribute so much (I haven't followed the LEGP from RRA, but didn't you have a bunch to do with this?) Tim, just remember, this isn't real life, it's an internet message board. In the big picture it isn't that important. What's important is knowing you've done what you felt was right.
Frankly, you don't need the aggravation. I'll come right out and tell you, if I ran a board like this, I would take one of two tacks with the GD board: I would either let it go and not moderate it at all (as in the old ak-47.net) or I would basically just rule with a rod of iron like TFL. If the latter, I wouldn't even bother explaining to someone why I deleted (not locked) their thread or their post and if they bitched too much I would ban them. Not because I was "power mad" or any of the sort of accusations that get thrown around but simply because anything else would take up too much of my time. |

True I do not know the whole story, but it sounds like someone got bent out of shape by being moderated by Antiussa and in turn wrote a nasty letter to admin. Now I can speak for what I have seen in the past almost 3 years that I been a loyal member of this sight. I seen Troll, Raciest, Nazi's, Anti-moderators and the Flame wars. Yet when the majority of the Moderators where afraid to take charge and do something about it. Antiussa was always one that could be counted on. He would always try to keep in mind the best interest of the board in mind. Now for the past uncountable months the McUzi thing has been brewing, and trust me, he rubs me in the wrong way all the time. I believe its been over a year now but I remember when a few board members split and created their own AR15 BBS. The main reason they claimed was so they could have an unregulated unmoderated board. It didn't take long before a lot of them returned and clearly stated that that board had turn into nothing but a hate board and a flame war board. I noticed some changes in the order of thing since the transfer to the new program and server of this board. But I never dreamed that some moderators would have their heads on the chopping block.
Like I said I got no clue as to all the reasons if any that this has happen. Forced retirement or voluntary retirement or suspension. I have always looked as moderation with this one rule in mind. "You can please some people, some of the time. You can please most people, most of the time. But you will never please all the people, all of the time." I for one will not miss AntiUssa in the least.
Look back through history where the most board fighting has taken place and there was AntiUssa and his style of moderation inciting other members to riot. An entire new AR15 boards was started at The Guns Network because he drove away members who could not tolerate his uneven handed moderation. I tried my best to get banned from this board one time because I could not put up with his crap any longer. No one then would ban me. Ed Avila and Don R both called me and told my how much my membership meant to them and to the site and would I please just leave Tim alone. They both told me how much I would like him if I knew him in person. They said to just take him with a grain of salt and Don R told me he had to slap Tim down from time to time because Tim truly did not realize how much rioting he would create with this site when he spoke first and thought about what he had just said later. So to keep peace I stopped any form of debate with Tim. I just ignored him and went on with my life accepting the fact that he was some-body's brother in law and nothing would be done to corral him. Since the rule seems to be no negative feedback on moderators and Tim is no longer a moderator I assume withing the realm of reality post not name calling this would be allowed. David Hineline one of the few confident enough of himself not to use a CB handle. |

Frankly, I think this is a bad sign. I think the content in General Discussion has deteriorated from what I was use to on the old board. More crap, less content. I would hate to be over run by a bunch of immature a--hole's. I's rather this return to a site interested in AR-15's and not what is currently going on. Sorry, anti couldn't stem the tide.

Truthfully, AntiUSSA was a bit harsh at times.
Regardless, I really enjoy this site and greatly appreciate what the Ed has provided for us. In my opinion, GD should remain for general talk and fun stuff and the really extreme porn stuff can be done over at the McUZI.com site. (it's a bit extreme over there, but it's some of it is actually very funny. it is still no replacement for this place and my guess is that it wasn't intended to be) We should put all of this crap behind us and try to get along as a group again. Because leaving a site I loved would do no more good than someone who left California leaving a home they loved.
I was trying to draw attn. to my opinion which AntiUssa would squelch and erase every time I debated him. I was getting so pissed and flustered that I started the attempt to get banned by posting Anti AntiUssa topics in every forum. They would stay for a few minute and would be gone, but some would see them and realized when I turned up missing that it was not at my choice because I loved the site but because my presence and opinion was no longer welcome. No one would ban me then. Now this site seems to be IP banning happy. I do not support the McUZI crap. I never felt he had any more to say than any other 13yr old male. I just ignored any posts by him and his type. Now you can't go anywhere without someone posting the Free McUzi banner. This forum has limited resources and taking it up for McUzi stuff is a waste of space. |

antiUSSA, I occasionally got annoyed at some of your reactions, but most of the time you seemed OK.
However, I think McUzi at his worst could provoke about any one into honorary POSTAL EMPLOYEE status. Frankly, losing the ability to post in his original and favorite board name is something he earned many times over, and is the one thing in the moderators' control that seems to have had some impact. If I never see the name (or any variation of it) as the author of a post, well it's a matter of monumental indifference to me. Small loss. For those who whined so much when antiUSSA put his foot down, you kind of remind me of the wife who calls the cops because she's getting slapped around, then attacks them when they put the cuffs on the old man. It seemed that no matter how far out of line somebody would get, there would always be one or two members who would howl about the moderators, especially about antiUSSA. The children would invoke some imagined right to misbehave in Ed Sr.'s guest room without consequence, and then act like they were the victim instead of the perp. Being a moderator is probably more aggravation than people can imagine, and the GD forum is probably the toughest, where the most miscreants hang out. No matter how much patience you think you have, I bet being a moderator here will test it like never before. So let's cut antiUSSA some slack and let him get on with more important things in his life. anti, even if you don't want to give it up, it's probably best to let go for now and relax as much as possible. If you want some tapes that are supposed to get your head in the right place to have surgery, let me know & I'll see if I can get it/them. (I don't know if it works or not). [red]PRK |

I for one could give a rats ass about ANTIUSSA. He is a one way dick. If you were "one of da boys" then it was all good, if not then watch out. I for one think that the GD forums are a little too tightly controlled, and that the way that SOME of the rules are enforced on SOME of the members is bullshit. I'll bet if the rules governing the GD forum were relaxed to an "R" rated status you would probably see the end of a lot of the trolls and the flame wars. What is wrong with having a board where you can hang out, scratch your nuts, fart, cuss, bullshit, crack jokes and talk about guns? Is it soo bad that someone posts a picture of titties, or uses some "dirty words"? Is it just me or did anyone else notice that at first it was jokes, dumb stories and general bullshit, yet as the moderators started being more and more oppressive the bullshit turned downright ugly, and as it kept up certain button pushers kept turning it another notch. Don't get me wrong, ANTIUSSA did more than most people did on this board during his time. However, I know what I have donated in both AR stuff and cash and I think that I should have a say as to how much crap I have to take from a moderator. I just find it interesting that ANTIUSSA is now starting to sound like a scorned McUzi with his not so snide comments, just like McUzi did when the moderators came down on him. |

To be fair: Maybe all of his problems stem from all of his illnesses, but: AntiUSSA had 2 sets of standards and locked posts on a whim. If you all can recall, he posted some VERY THREATENING posts when he got drunk on the night of the election. Anyone else threatening to do harm to public officials would have been booted on the spot. I sincerely don't want the General Discussion forum to be a smut house, but I don't want a tyrant like AntiUSSA clobbering people that he does not like either. Mcuzi is a pretty funny guy but sometimes he got a little wild over here. To his credit, instead of crying about it, he went out and started [b][url]www.mcuzi.com[/url][/b] where he could play and do stuff that wasn't allowed here. I go there and visit when I am alone and want a good laugh. (when the kids are out of the house) [;)] Everyone should just take it easy and treat each other fairly.
